☞  Vestor Ashford - the good doctor

        Ashford came from humble beginnings before he rose to eminence in as a psychiatrist in London. Possessed of a sizeable ego and the brilliance to back it up, he did brisk business as one of Rapture's best and brightest before the civil war broke out.  At first glance, Ashford appears to be an honourable pacifist, balking at the use of violence unless necessary. However, his goals are not quite as benign as the good doctor would have everyone believe.

☞  Jin (Xiao Jin) Lee - the reluctant leader

        He came to Rapture with his mother and father, promises of a free market at their backs. But though their electronics shop did well, life under the waves was far from idyllic. Picking up on the whispers of unrest, Jin found himself tangled in a rebellion that would cost him more than he was ready to pay. Clever and fast on his feet, he often tackles more than he can handle by himself. His stubborn pride and his desire to keep his friends safe from harm’s way usually ends up with him getting hurt. Jin never asked to be a leader, but he's starting to come to terms that somebody's stand atop the barricades.
