       “Directions... huh?” A look of question came to pain the soldiers features quite quickly. Although, she dismissed her suspicion with a sigh. It was obvious to her that this thing wasn’t a corrupted gem, nor where they a gem in general. Because of this, they held only a small amount of her interest. 

       “Well, saw a town that way--” She pointed behind her with her thumb as she spoke, walking closer to the other in a conversational manner. “--but don’t know the name or much about it. You can try your luck there if you want. Although, don’t go blaming me if you end up lost.” 

        She was just about to pass the other to go on her own way, going to give the creature a social pat on the shoulder-- before she froze. Her head looked towards the treeline, a grin spreading across her face. 

         Jasper was stuck here. It sucked, but it was reality. There was no feasible way she would be able to get home, and no way to contact Yellow Diamond that she was aware of. From what she knew, everything had been destroyed in the crash, and this planet’s remaining gem tech was far to primitive. Her only hope? To rally some kind of corrupted gem army, and take down the last enemy she had. Rose Quartz. 

         Her attention was ripped away from the corrupted gem she’d just captured moments before, to a flash of color that moved in the corner of her eye. She could tell from the form, that it was not a mere animal. This being said, she held no sense of fear from it. In fact, a sense of curiosity had gotten the better of her, and prompted her to walk towards it’s hiding place behind a large bolder. 

        While all gems are somewhat unique, there is always a commonality among them. Their drive, their ambition, and their loyalty all revolve around their respective diamond. After all, that is the construct in which their society is built. A construct that Jasper fulfilled with the most elation. 

        She was a quartz soldier. Not only that, but a Jasper. The gem had been told that this meant she was going to be a warrior, someone who fought on the behalf of their Diamond. She was strong, sturdy, and powerful- this she could feel within her being. The quartz had been praised for her ability, and called a natural. Rumor began to fly, due to her affinity in battle, that she was the ‘perfect quartz’. They claimed she was just what they needed in a war such as this. A dependable, strong, and reliable soldier. 

        Jasper knew what she fought for, but at the same time she did not comprehend it to it’s entirety. She fought without true purpose, and wanted to right it. The warrior desired to fight for something, not just fight for the sake of her role. It was because of this, that she made a bold claim. A request to talk with her Diamond. 

        She had been anticipating a refusal, but was surprised with an acceptance. As she made her way through the doors to her chambers, the quartz came to kneel before the larger gem. Creating the all to familiar Diamond insignia with her arms whilst doing so.

        Perhaps it was the superiority complex, perhaps it was the tone of her voice. Whatever it may be, she gem instantly found the other to be quite the annoyance. Why was it again, that she was stuck with this insulant gem? Oh, right. Because she needed an escort. While Jasper loved living the life of a warrior, there were times that she utterly despised her rank. Mainly because she often ended up playing guard dog.
