Things had been tense to say the least. Otabek was starting to feel like maybe it was a mistake to tell Yuri his families biggest secret—that they had magic in their blood. He tried to deny it as much as he could. He wanted to be normal and he refused to use it in his skating or anything else of importance. Sometimes it was unavoidable. He refused to learn to control it and sometimes the magic needed to get out. When he felt that urge he had always made himself scarce and used it for small, trivial things. He didn’t want his life to be what it was strictly because of his magic. He had told Yuri because he was his best friend, but now he wasn’t so sure. He couldn’t blame him for being mad for hiding something like that. Maybe he wouldn’t want to be around him anymore. He looked up at Yuri, his eyes open and vulnerable but the rest of his expression unreadable for his own sake. “If you’re angry with me, say it,” he said quietly.
