Overview: Species History
Kalbarae/Valharrae are ‘manufactured’ species, and have only been around for a mere 300 years, given that their own lifespans can be centuries (easily one of the longest naturally lived species) this means there’s only been a few generations since their formation. The species that was their ‘base’ had since disappeared with almost no trace once the ‘modded’ Kalbarae were being grown in mass. This has left the current species without much of a culture or history to speak of. This lack of both essential parts to a civilizations is incredibly demoralizing for most of their kind, leaving most to attempt to find personal purpose by attaching themselves to certain families (often times as bodyguards due to their imposing size and intense loyalty.) or as ‘unbiased’ leaders. This has lead to the biggest stereotyping of them as being ‘nothing but dogs’ serving powerful families, prone to violence or only suited to militaristic life if not straight up mercenaries.
The biggest event to have happened in their history so far is the the fight to even be categorized as their own species (thus protected from being separated and ‘waited out’, though there is an unforeseen and massive reason that this would not and did not work when the plan was attempted 160 years after they were ‘created’) and only within the last 10 years have they finally claimed their home planet back and rediscovering what the original species had left behind, though only a handful of Kalbarae were actually permitted to settle there due to the planet being categorized a conversation land and locking the majority of the population out and minimizing communication and interfaces for interstellar influences.
