💐 — A brief sigh escaped from his lips and he stared down at the new shipment of flowers. Normally, he would be enthusiastic about getting new flowers for his shop, but the mixed brightly colored flowers struck a chord of nostalgia and sorrow.
Because the meaning of the flowers related to something important to him that he left to his past.
“Zinnia flowers huh...” Aine shook his head and picked up the shipment carefully. If he was to think about lingering thoughts now, he would never recover properly. The bluenet set the crate down near one of the shelves and winced. Today probably wasn’t going to be a good day for him, so he should avoid unnecessary strain, especially since his part time worker was off. He would leave the responsibility of shelving the zinnia flowers tomorrow to him.
The windbell chimed, and he resumed his smiling face again. A terrible habit he kept from his days of becoming an idol, he was still able to mask his pain behind a gentle smile. But it was better if he could still make other people happy, wasn’t it?
“Welcome to Blue Roses! How can I-” His voice stopped and he froze immediately, when he locked eyes with his latest customer, realizing who they were.
Ever since that incident, he sometimes wondered whether some god up there was trying to make a play out his life-- a tragedy for him to struggle and overcome.
Now he could confirm that his entire life was definitely being scripted like a play now. It was a bittersweet irony that the zinnia flowers that came in today reminded him of that person-- the person being his best friend, who Aine chose to leave behind along with everything relating to his past.
But he always thought about him, regardless. Always wondering if he was still striving for that dream they had both aimed together. Always wondering if he was able to live in peace now after he sent him that letter.
And there he was, standing right at the entrance of his shop, just as dumbfounded as him. Neither of them said a word for a few minutes, until Aine was the first to break the silence.
“...Reiji? Is that you?”
