a movie blaring in the background. your new boyfriend jongho and his friends managed to find themselves sprawled out in every which way across your seating area. snacks littered the floor and you found yourself leaning to lay your head on the boy’s shoulder.

though, the message was not received and now you had your head awkwardly resting upon his chest, one of his arms loosely resting... on your head? this was uncomfortable, and it prompted you to shift until you could become content with your position. jongho only laughed quietly, the cheeky bastard, and suddenly you decided you needed a drink.

whether said drink was alcoholic or not didn’t exactly matter as you made your way to the kitchen, jongho following behind not long after to ensure that “you were okay.” that was the excuse he told his friends, anyway. “he wasn’t used to you leaving so abruptly”, he relayed the lie to you and you let out a soft chuckle, the joyful sound gently reverberating off of the walls, and the space between you and the taller boy.

“you okay? you seemed off in there.” from his lips fell a series of words that your heart began to melt at. you and jongho were a couple, sure. you were still a new couple, and he was showing all of the ways he would care for you. this was the emotional care that he had been excelling at showcasing.

“yeah! just... wondering.” your answer was vague and trailed off. soft footsteps filled your ears, your mind exaggerating the sound as he inched closer to you, distorting it and forcing your mind to fill with feelings of dread and panic. something in the depths of your head told you his intentions were pure, but the front of your head was too busy freaking out to notice.

“jongho..? what... are you doing...?” it was an unsure question with a vague answer. his hands came to gently cup your face. you’d swear that hearts were in his eyes as he looked over your expression with his own face contorted into a sweet manner.

time slowed as his lips pressed against yours. the finishing chord of a song, the climactic ending of a movie, the full stop at the end of a poem. it felt like something final, yet also something that opened up another world of possibilities. your relationship had begun, not ended. jongho showed you many ways in which it had begun, this just happened to be his finishing touch.

his hands moved through your hair, onto the nape of your neck, and his arms would drape around your shoulders. a soft smile played on his equally soft lips, even while they were melded with your own.
