Cavern Tiles!
I've been following an excellent YouTube video series by TheDMGInfo for some time now. What I have mostly crafted are 2.5D dungeon tiles, but since my 13th Age campaign will be having a Living Dungeon that has partially penetrated to a natural cave system, I decided to make some 2.5D cavern tiles as well.
However, I decided not to follow TheDMGInfo's instructions to the letter. The DMGInfo's cavern tiles are fully modular 3-by-3 tiles where every tile will fit next to every other tile. Instead I decided to make 2-by-2 tiles as well as a few larger tiles of irregular sizes, such as 3-by-4.
My tiles are not designed to fit next to any other tile, so I also had to make a few small dead-end tiles. Other that that, the cavern system I used works almost identically to 2.5D dungeon tiles.
Looking forward to see these tiles in action. I will let you know how they work!
