Kanto/Johto - Pokemon - Blackthorn Dragon Village
Prior to the revolution, there were two Dragon Villages, one in each region. They were of the same family--the main family in Johto, in Blackthorn, and the branch family in a now unknown area in Kanto. However, because of the divide, the families decided to stay together in Johto, since the Dragon's Den is there. Lance, although one of the most powerful dragon tamers in the two regions, was of the branch family. He became a royal reagent to the kingdom. As the eldest of the main family (yet younger than Lance), Clair is the Dragon Leader of Blackthorn Dragon Village.
There are two tiers to the challenge, though the second is not as rigorous as in Hoenn and Unova:
Battling the Dragon Leader
Gaining a dragon's trust
Make no mistake though; getting Clair to agree to a battle isn't easy. One must show attributes that make an individual trustworthy of such a privilege.
After proving one's character and skill, Clair will take the challenger into the Dragon's Den. Only one pokemon will approach the challenger, and if the challenger shows it kindness, it will befriend it.
Each dragon-type in a region represents something different in the village and says something about the challenger in the event s/he succeeds.
In Johto, the following Dragons may show up during the challenge:
Dratini: represents purity and good luck. Easiest to befriend.
Dragonair: represents gentleness and tranquility.
Dragonite: represents intelligence and kindness. Rarest (rarer than starters, but not as rare as legendaries), and most difficult to befriend.
Kingdra are also rare and never befriended in this manner, but if one should find a Dragon Scale and give it to a Seadra, it will evolve. It represents calmness and stealth.
