You know how often I say this so you'll know how much it means: I'm sorry.  

I didn't realize D was feeling all of that, and I definitely wouldn't have dragged you into the middle of that conversation.  I don't get why he hasn't realized that my relationship with him is just my relationship with him and has nothing to do with how I feel about you or what we do together, and I don’t understand why you were brought up in the first place.

I’m sure you’re pissed, and I’m sure you coming to me now won’t look good, but know that I’m still your best friend no matter what he says, and my door is open to you no matter what (even if I’m in the middle of something...again).

I still stand by my opinion that he needs to get over himself and that he owes you an apology, but I’m not holding my breath.
