i finished ship of magic :D!!! i loved it a lot more than i thought i would. i loved certain povs a lot more than i thought i would as well.
i think the farseer trilogy is such an effortless flexing of robin hobb’s ability to write limited pov political intrigue stories. the way she drip feeds world building in those books is unmatched. that being said, she’s flexing completely different muscles with ship of magic. she kind of lures you in with the farseer books and then once you’re invested in the world she goes full high fantasy, and it was just really great to be along for the ride lol. i cannot wait to read mad ship….
it's always a very weird experience to finish a book and rate it and see that you're in a very small minority, especially when you liked/loved a book that apparently everyone else hated. it really gets me scratching my head and wondering if anyone actually knew what they were getting into/how they didn't realize what the book was trying to do lol.

a clash of king povs are so fun hehe. the first few rounds you’re like okay same old same old, and then you get smacked with new povs, and then you get smacked with daenerys pov. i love :)
