In this universe, men carry the babies and everything our world once called “women’s work” has shifted. Expectant fathers waddle through morning sickness, attend prenatal classes, and compare stretch marks, while women build careers, fix fences, negotiate contracts, and are praised for being “so strong for him.”
Strength is redefined. Vulnerability belongs to men. Protection belongs to women. Baby showers celebrate fatherhood curves, maternity fashion lines are tailored for broad shoulders, and hospital wards are filled with laboring husbands gripping their wives’ hands.
So, while dead bored over the Christmas and New Year break, I decided to challenge myself to turn around a story as quickly as I could. Suffice to say, I'm pretty pleased with how it's turned out. I also created pictures and a mini-movie that (roughly) correlates to the story.

Shaun Watson had everything going for him. He had a great job in finance in Sydney. He had a great body for a 30 year old, finessed through going to the gym in his office 5 times a week, plus extra sessions at the gym near his home. Importantly for him, he had all kinds of hot women throwing themselves at him every time he went out. While women were talking about the player that was Shaun Watson, he didn’t care - he knew they’d come crawling back after they had experienced sex with him.
One night, he stumbled upon a nightclub that played 70s music. At first he didn’t feel like going in, but after one friend who always got a bit more loose than him begged to go in, Shaun relented. Sure enough, the vibe was popping, and he was eyeing the sexy women in the crowd.
One woman immediately grabbed his attention. She was slim, brunette and had a beautiful silhouette - everything he wanted in a woman. He didn’t bother getting her name, but used his charm to go back to her apartment. It’s his normal approach, so that he can disappear later once they had fucked.
He made himself feel at home at her apartment. He looked at the various books on her bookshelf, but his eyes looked more closely at the ones that appeared to be written in some mysterious language.
“So are you a nerd?” he asked as he picked up one of the books. “This looks like that language from Star Trek…”
“Klingon?”
“Yeah, that one! So fucking weird that they made up a whole language for a TV show.”
“I guess…”
He put the book down on the table and made his way towards her bedroom. She picked up the book and turned it towards the page with a particular spell. She briefly mumbled a phrase.
“You coming or what?” Shaun yelled from the bedroom.
“Yep, just a second…” she replied. The book slammed shut as she finished the phrase, meaning she did it right. “Brave man you are, Shaun…”
She entered her bedroom, seeing Shaun lie on the bed. He seemed ready for a good night ahead, flexing his biceps and flirting with her. She smirked for a second, before feigning excitement seeing Shaun as she pulled his t-shirt off and made out with him.
