「 ❄ 」 At the time, dying hadn’t seemed like such a bad option as long as it was for a cause—-as long as he saved the people he wanted to protect. But… he needed to realise that others felt the same way about him, right? How selfish for him to ignore their feelings, to think it’d be fine just because he cared so little for his own life. For all he knew, his friends possessed that same willingness to sacrifice themselves for the ones they loved, and he wouldn’t want to live without them.

Because death couldn’t unhappen. At least, there shouldn’t have been a way for it to. Yet he found himself alive once more. Out of everyone in the Underworld ( and in others too ), something happened to save him. What had he done to deserve that?

“Uh… yes,” he admitted. But should he explain? She seemed curious, yet telling her would entail explaining his circumstances. He wondered how Yuna would react to hearing that he wasn’t actually human like her. “It’s probably natural, right? I mean, I don’t want anything bad to happen to the people I care about, so…”

“I see...” Silently berating herself, she knew it wasn’t her place to ask about what had happened to Eugeo, but in that moment, she had seemed to ignore all respect for privacy in favor of her own curiosity. “Yeah, I guess it is...I mean, when people you care about are in danger, you’d do anything at all in order to keep them safe, even if it means giving yourself up by being in that danger in their place.”

Half of Yuna wanted to pour her heart out and rant about what had happened to her and her circumstances. The other, on the other hand, wanted to log out and pretend this never happened, and just continue life like she was meant to in the real world. Nevertheless, she tried to take a deep breath and smiled.
