It seems the by-election in Gorton and Denton has shown us that right-wing populism only really thrives when they're the ONLY populist movement out there... people like a strong, left-wing candidate.

If you SHOOT the person in the driver's seat, the car keeps going forward? That's how cars work? There was absolutely, ABSOLUTELY no justification for the ICE agent's actions. "self defense" was never in the equation. That ICE agent wasn't thinking of how to defend himself, in fact, he wasn't thinking at all. They aren't paid to think. They're paid to pull their guns on civilians, and bark orders at bystanders, and tackle terrified people to the ground, and follow mothers and fathers with their cars for miles.

"[Piece of media] is fantastical. It has [purely fictional story element.] You're really surprised it has [Inaccuracy that interrupts the worldbuilding and doesn't follow the logic of its own universe?]." Suspension of disbelief only goes so far. When a piece of media establishes the rules for its universe, those rules become the new laws of reality in THAT UNIVERSE. If you then go on to break the laws YOU established, it is not covered by that same suspension of disbelief.

But they are not us. We love your work. We appreciate your time and your effort. We're there to defend it against the horde of fans who always hate the thing that just came out.
