Symposium of Post-Mysticism EN

The last two have only been on the official twitter, as they’ve been about covering things that are in SoPM that aren’t being covered in the project.

Still, recordings are almost done, so we’re very close to being able to move on and begin real tangible progress. Expect snippets soon.

Reimu wasn't changed much, really. Just making her dialogue a little less awkward. This is, however, a decent look into how sound effects (foley work) will end up in the final cut, since Reimu definitely has a lot of body language going on.

Miko's changes were... well, making her more grand, for the most part. Leaming more on larger-than-life, though we made sure to not go too far. We actually made a lot of her dialogue less conversational, because Miko doesn't do like that. All things considered, though, her dialogue is probably the closest to the original overall as far as the big three here goes.

Most of Byakuren's changes are making her dialogue conversational, but also clarifying some of the things she says, which in the original translations are very ambiguous, or just outright translated wrong, like the second Perfection here. 

Reimu Hakurei teaser, the last one! Reimu is normally the protagonist of the series, but is a minor character here. What little she does do, though, is really important.

Akyuu Hieda teaser. Akyuu is the organizer, host, and scribe of this whole event, and acts as the narrator. In the book itself, she has a ton of footnotes as extra thoughts, but here many of those have been turned into dialogue.

Since Akyuu isn’t, you know, a fight in any of the games, I just have some scrolling footage from Perfect Memento in Strict Sense in the background of this one. It actually took me a full half hour to scroll through the entire book!

Miko Toyosatomimi teaser. Miko's not really here to present any new ideas - she hasn't been around long, so she's mainly just here to tear down the others', especially Byakuren's. This was just before the peak of Miko and Byakuren’s rivalry, well before they settled down to being friendly rivals instead, after all. (If you’re wondering why I’m going with “Miko Toyosatomimi” instead of the standard “Toyosatomimi no Miko”, that’s for consistency reasons. Akyuu is also going to just be “Akyuu Hieda”.)

Marisa Kirisame teaser. Marisa is the series deuteroganist, but here she plays second (fourth?) to the trio who participated in most of the discussion itself. This one was weird to produce, as Marisa doesn’t really have a large amount of backstory, since she’s much more defined by what she does in-series.

You were probably expecting the Miko one third! She’s on her way, trust me.
