“Work certainly keeps a woman busy. I have not been back in here in so long.”

“Of course. The Orthodoxy continues to dwindle every day. In fact it is becoming difficult to find any remaining members.” Though she had a feeling in her gut there were still a couple left. “... The Water Vestal continues to elude our searches unfortunately.”

“Yes, I can relate. I must admit, it is not easy working for DeRosa.” For many reasons that she wasn’t about to get into now. That could wait. “But it is an honor to be given an important part to play.” And she would do her absolute best to fulfill her role.

“Eternia is a land that is always covered in snow, and though I have been here for quite some time, I don’t think I’ll ever truly adjust to such extreme heat. I miss the bitter chill of home.”

A small pause as realization struck her. “Forgive me if I’ve said anything that might upset you.” She didn’t have to know what this ‘lifestream’ was to understand her meaning. “Yes of course. A master is always proud of his students. But there’s a different kind of pride when you rise above and beyond expectations, isn’t there?"

“Work. This has been my post for the last few weeks and my duty to survey the area.” It was obvious from the reaction that this woman wasn’t trying to do any harm to her plans. “There’s nothing against you being so far out but it is dangerous in these parts. I would advise you to return to Florem.”

“Wonderful.” She sighed. “I miss the sharp chill of winter. Bearing through this heat has been unbearable!”

“I can’t say that I’ve heard of him, but i certainly shows that you were his best pupil. He must be incredibly proud of you.”

“I suppose not. Thank you, sir.” She bowed her head to show her respect. “You look well yourself. How have you been doing. It feels like far too long since we last spoke to one another.”

“...” She would have preferred avoiding him altogether if it were possible. But she had to report to him eventually. He was in charge of the Blood Rose Legion after all. A sharp inhale as she approached the Red Mage. “DeRosa? You...called for me, did you not?”

“Sir, is there something I can help you with? You’ve been looking very confused for a while now.” As if she wouldn’t have noticed. It was rather sad to see if she’s perfectly honest.

“Your strength rivals that of Barras. Where did you learn to fight like that if you don’t mind my asking?”

“Miss? You look lost.” She observed from afar. What was she even doing this far out anyway? Florem was the closest town from here but even that was a good distance away. “You should return to Florem. These lands aren’t safe.”

“Master Kamiizumi.” Although she kept up her professional appearance, she couldn’t stop herself from smiling ever so slightly to see her old master. “To what do I owe the pleasure?”
