Hanamaru’s script writer and series compositor is Sugiura Pierre. He previously worked as the later on Barakamon.

On Hanamaru’s website you can see a comment from some of the staff; this is what Sugiura wrote: “When I was playing Touken Ranbu, I felt a lot of different emotions. It made me feel excited, happy, frustrated, and it made me laugh… So I wanted to carefully draw out each and every one of those aspects and make a story that would warm up your heart, where every day is a fun one. Just like all the other Saniwas have been pouring all their affection into raising their Touken Danshi, I also want to pour all of mine into it and earnestly build up a story.”

Sugiura’s words carry a lot of passion! It looks like this will be a peaceful healing type of show.
