How do I summarize one of the most surreal experiences that is NFT NYC? Well, after speaking on three remarkable panels, producing two incredible events, and matching hundreds of friendly faces to usernames, I imagine it includes a photo dump two weeks later of random pics and video I didn’t take any because I was too busy with a caption that reads: I LOVE YOU ALL SO MUCH, I’m incredibly proud of what @ilovesunriseart accomplished, and I’m beyond grateful for my wonderful new and old friends 🙏🏼💛 Thank you, @dianasinclair, for adding me to Digital Diaspora, @nftnow for honoring me in the NFT 100, @maxkulchinsky for always highlighting a sister, @juliangilliam for allowing me to use my privilege for good, and my family forever @jetziinthesky for keeping everything afloat ✨ Watch my NFT NYC Story highlight to see how the @ilovesunriseart party and curated showcase went! This year has been fascinating because I’m back in college, finishing my degree! (I graduate in May, woohoo!!!) but I thought it might be a perfect time to share how proud I am of @ilovesunriseart and our fantastic team and community!!! 🌞🧡 Our Sunrise Art Fund dedicated to education, inspiration, and wellness for Women of Color in Web3 is currently at 16.47 ETH, which is ~$50k 🥹💛 We are busy working on experiences and opportunities for everyone. Still, I’m feeling enthusiastic about the rest of the year. Only 251 to go hehe ✨ Creating a 365-day NFT project hasn’t been easy because we are the first to develop a daily sunrise photo project, but I’m so glad I dove headfirst with my crew, and we’ve found so much support in the crypto community. “Attempting the Impossible” sold out in 7 minutes on @niftygateway 🕊☁️ I’m incredibly grateful to those who were able to enter the raffles and bid ☺️ if you weren’t able to, don’t worry! There’s a few on secondary, and from my last collection, “Displaced: Giraffes in the City” 🦒 I know NFTs are still a confusing topic for most, but I’m working on an NFT 101 over at @ilovesunriseart that will break it down. Again, I’m never here to pressure anyone to do anything, and I don’t believe NFTs will replace physical artwork, but what I will say is NFTs aren’t just art, apes, and crypto bros. It’s digital ownership, domain names, identities, music, healthcare, sports, play-to-earn gaming, event tickets, and even better reward for early supporters of brands and musicians, etc.; I’ve been early before 😁 And this feels no different. It’s easier to believe an easy lie than a complex truth. The blockchain is a convergence between tech literacy and financial literacy, which, even for me, has a big learning curve. Not everything you read may be accurate, but some of it may be, too! Please keep an open mind because we are all learning along the way ✨ So far, I’ve been able to donate to giraffe conservation, support artists from all over the world, and actually build projects that help people who can’t help themselves.
