I can’t begin to express how grateful I am to have been invited to celebrate this film that so beautifully captured The Eras Tour for what it was: a family event.

Being a fan of Taylor is knowing that she is more than music. She transcends all expectation of a musical artist. Her voice echoes through the community that she has cultivated using her words, work ethic, and authenticity. Examples of this can be seen in the Swiftie community many times over. Taylor proved to us that she recognizes that in us - and trusts us. And I won’t ever take that for granted.

Taylor Swift’s universe is unlike anything I’ve ever been a part of. My first listen of “Tim McGraw” was in the front seat of my older sisters beat up Chevy while she drove me to school. I was lucky enough to have a sister who listened to country music and shared it with me. Taylor became a huge part of my life since then, and I anticipated every release, every album drop, every event or award show she would appear at. But something else was happening behind the scenes of my interest in Taylor Swift - I was forging very real friendships. I was learning about myself through her songs and what she decided to share with us about her life. I was expanding my vocabulary with “folklore” and “evermore”. And I was learning to love myself more every day.

I was fortunate enough to grow up with the albums that Taylor put out in her early career. Many of those songs and moments in Taylor’s career touched my heart in unchangeable ways. Now, I’m lucky enough to be growing up in my 20s with Taylor re-releasing those same albums with a renewed spark. The Eras Tour and Taylor’s Versions have blended together so delightfully to create this very real feeling of nostalgia mixed with the anticipation of uncharted territory. The Eras Tour was unreal - to see it on the big screen was like waking up in the middle of the best dream you’ve ever had only to realize it’s happening right in front of you again.

Taylor, congratulations. The film is electric, and you absolutely deserve every ounce of praise coming your way. I’m so proud to support you.

Sam Lansky has such a wondrous way with words, and I’ve loved reading his pieces for over a decade. If you’ve ever been around him, you know he’s just the best type of person: Curious. Interested. Hilarious. Intriguing and intrigued. I have tRuSt iSSueS when it comes to interviews but I couldn’t be happier that I did this one with him. I was blown away to see quotes from people I adore and admire like Stevie Nicks, Greta Gerwig, Shonda Rhimes, Phoebe Bridgers, Natalie Maines, Kenny Chesney, and Lucian Grainge. I was so happy he spoke to fans Madison and McCall who were so eloquent, loyal, and kind. I’m really reflecting on this year, and all the years that led up to it. Can’t say thank you enough times. 🥲
