I love seeing other people's ocs and getting snippets of their stories like oh my gosh there's a whole world and narrative in your head that I'm getting a small glimpse into isn't that so cool????

That's why it's so disrespectful when authors of fics receive comments from people who think those stories are written to satisfy them and to their taste. No. It should be appreciated that these people who create character stories let us into their wonderful fictional world. To read their interpretations, their imagination, that's brilliant. To be able to enjoy the imagination of others is a pleasure. If you don't like something in a fic, stop reading or else use your mind to create or to conform. I will always be eternally grateful to the creators of fics for giving new and different lives to my favorite characters.
