7.7.17👩🏻🍳= Il mio ultimo giorno di lavoro in cucina!! (My last day of work in the kitchen!!) Oh man, I can't believe I survived 🤣 This picture pretty much sums it all up.. sandwiched and squashed in a testosterone-lit Italian panini 😆! I had one PMS meltdown. Normally I enjoy everyday and everyone helps everyone, but all I wanted that day was to be lying flat and horizontal somewhere cold. I was fed up with one coworker for keeping me too long, mad at another for wanting me to do something that was going to take me a century, mad at another for asking for me when he clearly knew I was busy, mad at another for the same reason, mad at myself for dropping the last full bag of bright red sticky grenadine syrup I'd just finished rushing through the sous vide that splattered ALL over the pasticceria from the ceiling and walls into a lovely puddle, upset with the porter for complaining about just having thoroughly cleaned the floor when I was already sad about that for him, mad at someone else for being a hogger while he was angry at someone else who was in turn calling him the Mongoloid... we are usually mindful but clearly we were all just tired 😪😪. I was just upset that I was too busy I didn't get to work on anything I was proud of. Turned out that the President of Michelin came to Contrada that night and did not order the pigeon dish Chef thought he would. Instead, the President ordered the orata fish dish, and nobody saw that coming. However, the team proceeded, and apparently Chef was so surprised to see that the black squid ink coral crisp design piece that Stefano had me angrily cut before I left was the most perfect round circle they had ever seen because apparently it's impossible to cut a perfect round coral without cracking a few crumbs or pieces around the edges first. The Prez was pleased with his dish and the team had a great evening after all. So I guess PMS can be pretty handy sometimes. Anyway, I won't be leaving Castel Monastero until Sunday, so I can continue to breathe in the hot scalding beauty here 🔥😅!!
