Do you think Naruto fights through his nonsensical self loathing and misdirected rage, pulling Sasuke close despite the man throwing punches at him like he’s trying to escape all over again? Do you think Naruto lays there with Sasuke exhausted and burnt out on his chest and whispers to him that he understands? That he truly gets it, that no one else understands better than him, but that they’ll get through this together? Do you think Sasuke believes him? Or tries to, because he knows that Naruto does truly care despite what the demons in his head say? Do you think that calms him at least for a little while?

The problem with Sasuke's trauma and people saying he should get over it, is the fact he cannot possibly get over it.

And I genuinely mean this. There isn't a day in his life where he can ignore what happened to him. It's one thing to lose a few family members, it's completely other to lose, what's essentially, your face. He quite literally is reminded every day of what happened by the fact that no one who looks similar to him is alive.

There is no longer anyone who has his culture. His traditions are no longer practiced. No one who holds the same beliefs as him. No one who looks like him. No one with his blood. Nothing.

I mean I'm just asking you to imagine your own race suddenly being killed, in front of your eyes, and then having to live as the last survivor.

Simple and harsh truth is that you won't recover.

No amount of therapy can help Sasuke because nothing can bring his people back. I think people often confuse Sasuke's rejection of the blind loyalty to the Village as him rejecting any nationalism and patriotism.

Sasuke is obviously proud to be an Uchiha. He's patriotic about it, sometimes even more nationalistic. I think it's very obviously to say he's simply more loyal to his ethnicity than his nationality (Which would be a member of Konoha).
