Wilford having memory issues and not recognizing ken at first. Confused and startled by there suddenly being a new person. Then ken trying to help.

Either of em being jumpy at the other. Simon still unsure of grace. Grace trying to help him settle in. Or even just a small conversation on where their from.

"S-Simon..WAIT. You can't just g-go! We need to stay together because they WILL be after us and I promise you...They will not stop until they find you and Rocky."

Dr. Grace pleaded with the bloodied man, his hands clasped together fidgeting with anxiety.

"Ryland...I've been captive for...12 years...I am finally free and I just need to...go.

You've done enough for me and if I stay with you...I'll only hurt you...maybe worse." The anomaly seethed through the sharp teeth protruding from his face, mist forming due to the blistering weather.

Grace lowered his head and fought threatening tears. His head was spinning and he could feel Rocky rolling back and forth in his crystalline ball nervously.

Dr. Grace didn't think that when he spent time and resources saving this man that he would just run. He couldn't blame him. He was found washed up next to a bloody lake and immediately taken in as some sort of threat. Labeled as a criminal from a different reality where there were no stars. Grace's heart hurt when he remembered his first day trying to speak to him, how scared and how weary he'd been. This man who had been called anything but his name was dear to Grace.

The Convict. The Butcher.

He was just Simon to Grace. Grace's friend and confidant. They'd stayed up late talking through the one-way glass of Simon's cell. Grace snuck him extra food and books and Simon told him about his mother, the Last Tree and Eden, his home.

But now...Simon wanted to leave Grace behind to run away. Anywhere but here. With Grace.

Grace sobbed quietly as Simon walked away, the steps hesitated at first then broke into a stride then finally....a sprint for the forest surrounding the foundation.

"You'll forget about me...I'm nothing." was the last thing Grace could comprehend before Simon left.

Rocky sang a sweet small melody to soothe Grace before nudging him with his ball.

"Men come looking for Grace Friend and Rocky. Must go. Statement. Simon won't be gone forever. Rocky knows this."

UGH these 2....i wish there was more fanfic about them bc they are just too cute.
