Aden chuckled and nodded. âCertainly.â Aden was quite sure Naomi would be a lot safer in his company than roaming around alone. âNo need to thank me, Iâm happy to help.â Plus since he didnât have any real destination today he didnât mind walking to The Greasy Spoon even when he had never been there before. But hey, he was looking for a place to eat at so maybe they would have good food over there.
âDonations?â he repeated looking at the box, trying to see what was in it. As Naomi explained the whole situation a smile came on Adenâs lips. âThatâs nice of youâ, he said looking at her. âSo technically it could be anything from clothes to books and whatnot?â Aden knew he made more money than he actually ever used on things so maybe he could give something forward too. âDo you guys take money or just physical objects?â
How could someone talk about this without some sort of energy about them? And Naomi was filled with energy; it was probably one of the only things keeping her going after hearing such a variety of responses about her mission. She was happy that Aden seemed to be interested in it. âI just feel like Iâve been given a good place in my life to be able to spread my own good will. It may not do everything but itâs better than nothing.â
âYeah, things like that. Our biggest collections go for toiletries and clothing, especially since weâre getting into the colder season but I also like to take some of the toys and books I get to the orphanages down there. Give the kids something to play with and hopefully keep them out of trouble.â Naomi knew better than to truly think it was as easy as that. âAnd yeah we take money too but I find most people just want to bring things that they donât want anymore. We have a jar though set up by our tip jar at Havens where people can donate if they feel so inclined. Most of the time, I ask for that instead of tips when itâs just me working.â
