It’s been up for hours, but I only just remembered to let you know here :)

Jon’s mouth tightened, but his voice remained steady. “Did she love me?”

Ned would not offer the young man certainties he did not possess. “She held you until her strength was gone. She did not regret bringing you into the world. Her greatest fear was that I had come too late to save you.”

“That time would never have existed.”

“No,” Ned admitted. “It would never have existed.”

Jon raised his face to the statue. “How many times did you see me pass before her, knowing I had no idea whose face I was looking at?”
