If you have this mindset in 2026, YOU need to talk a long internal look if we’re being honest.
Tell me you’ve never played a tomb raider game outside of the trilogy that stripped Lara of everything that made her, HER. That completely changed her backstory and her character (not to mention the torture porn death scenes) without telling me.
Classic Lara was one of the first ever female protagonists in a video game who PAVED THE WAY for every single one that came after. Lara wasn’t a side kick, a love interest or a damsel in distress. She was confident, intelligent, independent, didn’t take any shit, wasn’t a pushover, was strong, she was EMPOWERING.
She was that bitch. And she always will be.
A woman can be attractive, wear fitted clothing and still be intelligent and capable. They’re not mutually exclusive and the fax that you think they ARE says way more about you, your internal sexism and your conversation iaeolgoies.
You were clearly NEVER a fucking fan of Lara Croft in the first place. So kindly get to stepping and let the door hit you on your way out.

Also, classic Lara was completely independent, financing her own trips with travel writing AND her motivation was her own, not following in Daddy's footsteps. She went on adventures because she wanted to, and sometimes that is enough of a reason!
To imply that Crystal Dynamics never sexualised Lara is ridiculous. Have you seen the 'wetsuit' from Underworld? The dress from Legend? And the sheer number of unlockable bikinis that serve no purpose at all?
