You wake up in a train compartment you don’t remember boarding. The air feels too heavy, the silence too deliberate. Outside your door you hear voices, footsteps, strangers who look just as lost as you. "Mind the Gap" is a psychological thriller visual novel about trust, fear, and the way people change when they’re trapped together.

I’d love to tell you about the research I’m doing right now, how it connects to the game, and which specific characters it’s for… but I can’t😓 You know why; that would be one huge ass spoiler.

The only thing I can say is that MtG’s lore wasn’t originally planned as something deep or fully independent. For the first three chapters, I was honestly just stitching things together, trying to make everything work somehow. But now I finally understand what I’m doing, where the story is going, and how everything fits together. It’s all become so much more meaningful and coherent.

I completely rethought who she is. Before, she was mostly an archetype. Now she feels like a real person. I love her so much, she’s such a complex character.

The funny thing is, I was already writing her mostly the “right” way before— I just wasn’t fully aware of why. Now I am. Every part of her is intentional.

I also completely revisited the choices involving Naomi that are currently in the game (there are three of them so far). Right now, you’re quietly building points toward different routes, and Naomi’s ending and her entire character arc will depend on which path you’ve leaned toward the most. You have no idea what’s coming with her^^

So… Naomi’s bible is already around 10 pages long and I even had to do a research on Buddhism mhmmm (which is actually a really interesting and nuanced religion, by the way)😊 Basically, I’m finally doing what I should’ve done a long time ago: learning my own characters inside and out.

Honestly, it’s helping so much. If you’re a writer, I highly recommend making a character bible for every single character. Without one, it’s way too easy to lose track of things.

I WISH! I’d absolutely love to make merchandise!!!😭 But unfortunately, the game just isn’t popular enough yet for me to justify putting the time, effort and money into making it:( Maybe one day, though… I’d really love to.

That said, I honestly don’t know if I’ll ever get there. I have no idea how to properly promote my game. I barely have enough time to make the visual novel itself, and promoting it would probably take way more time and energy than people realize. And like… how am I even supposed to do that? Make short, cringey TikToks and pray to the algorithm? …Naaah. 😁🙏🙏

Whoa, that's a lot of questions here! 😵‍💫 And... about half of them are pretty spoilery, haha, so I'll only be able to answer a few...

1. Is Felicia a tsundere?

Lmaoo, that's actually such a funny question. Jokes aside, I generally don't like forcing my characters into neat little archetypes or boxes, if you know what I mean.

"But what about Vir? You literally called him a yandere!"

Fair point, I admit it. The main reason is simply that people tend to understand and remember a character more easily when there's already a recognizable label attached to them. And, well... I obviously wanted more people to notice the game, so I did what I did. That said, I wasn't lying. Vir does have yandere moments and traits, but that isn't his entire personality.

As for Felicia... if I absolutely had to put her into an archetype... then yeah, "tsundere" isn't a perfect fit, but it's probably the closest one. So you were pretty much spot on! ^^

3. How would Vir react if MC kissed him...

Ooh, I actually answered that one in the previous ask, hehe.

4. MC with disorder? Would it be hard for others...

The short answer is... probably yes, it's not that , of course.

The long answer is... well, it really depends on the specific diagnosis, y'know.

6. It's Vir kind or bad..?🤔

And oooh, yeah! I feel like every fandom eventually comes up with the theory that everything is actually just the protagonist's dream, haha.

Squatting down in front of Naomi, you unexpectedly opened your arms and pulled her into a hug.

Naomi: "...Huh!?"

Her whole body immediately tensed as you held her tightly. You couldn't see the way her eyes widened, or how fast her heart suddenly started beating.

Naomi: "Y... Y/N...?"

She spoke hesitantly. Unsure.

You: "There..."

Then, all at once, she gasped and frantically shook her head, as though she'd suddenly come back to her senses. Your unexpected hug had thrown her into a panic.

Naomi: "W-Wait... Daddy...! Daddy! I can't breathe!! Da...ugh!!"

She struggled in your arms like a butterfly trapped inside a jar.

You: "Naomi!?"

Startled by her reaction, you immediately let go.

You: "Hey... I... it's me."

Breathing heavily, she scrambled backward, wrapping her arms around herself.

A few seconds passed.

...

Naomi: "I'm sorry... I'm so-so sorry..."

Ah, I had an interesting question, but I forgot it. Well, here's another one :3

What would Vir do if I kissed her cheek? Are there any characters who can dance, and what style? Did the team that voiced the characters contact you first, or did you contact them to participate in the novel? I can imagine how happy you are. I'm happy for you too.

What would Vir do...? Considering the current context and where your relationship with him is at in chapter 3... well... let's say you suddenly decided you wanted to give him a lil smooch lol

You suddenly lean in, your lips just inches away from brushing against his cheek.

Almost.

Until something abruptly stops you.

You: "Mmh?!"

That "something" turned out to be Vir's fingers. With one hand, he firmly grabbed your cheeks, squishing your face and puffing your lips into an involuntary duck pout.

Vir: "...And what exactly was that?"

His voice is calm, carrying only the faintest hint of surprise. Tilting his head slightly, he makes no move to let go. Frowning, you instinctively try to answer:

You: "I jush... wan-ed... mmph—!"

One corner of his lips slowly curls upward. He seems thoroughly entertained by your hopeless attempts to form a single coherent word.

Vir: "I have to admit, I expected you to disregard my personal boundaries again... just not in this particular... format."

You: "Viff—"

He presses your cheeks just a little harder, making your lips puff out even more. His smile widens ever so slightly, his eyes narrowing with quiet amusement.

Vir: "Mm? Yes? What is it? I'm listening very carefully."

You let out an annoyed huff.

Vir: "I'm afraid I didn't quite catch that, Y/N. Care to repeat yourself?"

With a bit of effort, you finally pry his hand off your face, awkwardly rubbing your sore cheeks where his fingers had been. They'd gone a little red.

You: "What the..."

Vir: "My apologies."

Vir: "But now you'll know. I don't appreciate... spontaneous advances like that."

You: "..."

He smiles at you.

Vir: "As much as I enjoy your fiery spirit, next time... try approaching me with a little more courtesy.

Where do I even begin? I adore your novel. I admire your effort. I love you! 💞

I was so excited to see all the characters reunited, the way you write and create such a vivid atmosphere, the art, the voices (especially Vir and Naomi's). Excited to see everything new in chapter 3. But you know what? I quickly remembered that MtG isn't all sunshine and rainbows 🌈. In the end, I feel... I don't know how to say it :( ...An emptiness in my heart, but it's not sadness. I just feel a little afraid of what might happen and I'm terrified of not knowing what you have in mind for the future (Evil SweePix, hum >:^). At the same time, I feel a terrifying 'calm' with the ending. I'm a calm person, my attitude is like:

I didn't expect what happened with Saphira. If she's just a flower girl, why didn't she show her true colors? Is the Saphira I know not the real one? 😿. I don't blame Verity. I understand her position. I hope both she and Felicia are okay. And Naomi, she's been so brave, but next time I'll cover her eyes even if I'm a kilometer away >:( I'm really not in the mood to hate, Deuce, 'maybe' Vir is worse, but who cares?! I love a lot of questionable Yanderes 🤐😔 And MC? Well, in the position I understand that she can't do much... But I mean, I'M an FBI agent, act like one! 😭 I honestly think she should have more of a leading role and more attitude. AAAGHHRR IDK :((((

And the new cover gave me chills. Do you know "Squid Game"? Vir would be like player 001 in this story, right? 🥴🤯🤯🤯
