I suddenly felt like doing this because these days are quite tough for Jun’s stans, and of course, Jun as well.
WEN JUNHUI - this boy gathered attention because of his visual similarities with Heechul,and as fans get to know more about him, and the rest of Seventeen, we found out that this guy was a child actor, someone who can play the piano, someone who loves to read novels, likes pictures of baby animals, collects funny photos of Seventeen, and as what Mingyu said – HE IS A MEMBER WITH A SOFT HEART.
I didn’t know what Mingyu actually ment until I witnessed the things he does as I look after him and the rest of Seventeen.
Recently, SVT’s China-line was sent to a Chinese show called “Chaoyin Zhan Ji” (CYZJ), where they can showcase their skills as performers and also have a chance to collaborate with their competitors and other artists in China. I knew very well that this is a chance for them to get the limelight, but as I watch the show, I get to witness more than that.
That show has been pressing JUN so hard. It feels like watching JUN get into battle, see him reign, but he seems to be “wounded deeply”, I am not sure if he can handle well up to his next rounds.
He was misunderstood because of a “Bondage” joke, which is not said with bad intentions but is translated in a way that it is outside its original chinese context. He was judged, but I don’t think he knows that since foreign antics came on hating him.
The second one was when Yanan went sick. Yanan can no longer perform, he wanted to quit the show, but at that point, JUNHUI is on his side, listening to him, encouraging him, showering him with so much comfort and good words — I have never seen this side of JUN before. He even allowed Yanan to take a rest, and he will do the performance alone while waiting for Yanan’s recovery.
The latter performances in CYZJ has to be done in pairs, – all contenders on that show has a partner, and we know that JUN is teamed up with YANAN because it’s his choice and he totally sticks to that. This is why when Yanan is asked to take a rest, he decided to go alone, do a performance intended for 2 people ALL BY HIMSELF. He really wanted to protect Yanan’s spot to the point that he used to microphones just to remind everyone that he is performing for (and with) Yanan too.
He was so alone and lonely on stage. I felt proud, yet sorry that he has to take the burden alone at that time. HE WAS EVEN AT THE EDGE OF ELIMINATION! He only succeeded by just ONE VOTE– thanks to that, JUN and YANAN was able to continue. All these happened along side with SEVENTEEN’s comeback preparation, so imagine all the stress that he has been going through at those times.
When YANAN went back and they get to practice together, his throat condition got worse. He didn’t give up and kept singing. He was trying to reach notes, he was trying a lot of things – until he visited the doctor, and got 7 shots for his thoat to recover fast.
Jun and Yanan got to perform together on stage again and this time, their performance got 1st place …and I am really proud of JUN ,because that spot is a product not only of his hard work but his dedication to keep the spot. I am thankful to Yanan as well because he was there when Jun is so frustrated that his throat isn’t well.
But this does not end here.
August 24,2018 – JUN shocked his fans and CYZJ viewers because of a decision that no one has anticipated.
He decided not to compete for the TOP 3 positions anymore.
Some things went out of hand because Yanan got sick again and the director has given him 2 options: 1) choose another partner that is outside the show 2) choose a partner who will not make it to the Top 3.
Both of these is hard for him since he can’t bare to witness another elimination on the show. This is why he opted not to compete for the finals anymore.
He politely announced this to the viewers at the venue, and he is given the opportunity to perform for a special stage instead.
This decision has caused various reactions. Some fans went mad, some are disappointed, some find it heartwarming because he’s been so sincere. — I FELT VERY PROUD OF HIM.
JUN never viewed this show as a competition, he just wanted to learn more to reach out and to have fun..and althroughout the episodes, these are the things that he has been doing.
Aftet that night, I was so concerned because people are coming at him saying that he is not competitive, that their votes are now wasted, that JUN has disregarded their efforts. This is when I realized that sometimes, people will judge you for being too kind because you are not as greedy and as selfish as they are . I WANT TO PROTECT HIM BADLY.
If he only knew that we wanted to hug him for we know he is stressed up to this day. We want to praise him for choosing not to hurt anyone and to carry the burden himself, and for being responsible enough to let go of the spot, but still perform for his fans.
He is a guy who doesn’t want to be a trouble to anyone, someone who has a heart only for friendships and developments and someone who responsible enough to share and take the burden to help others lighten up. HE IS TOO KIND. TOO KIND THAT HE WAS HATED AND MISUNDERSTOOD. TOO KIND THAT HE CHOSE TO LET GO OF HIS PRIDE AND TO GIVEWAY TO SOMEONE ELSE.
I WAS NEVER WRONG IN STANNING JUN…AND I WILL CONTINUE ON BECAUSE HE DESERVES TO BE LOVED AND PROTECTED 💕
