goleyaas: esp as woc, you learn how to solve your own issues on your own accord, your diary is your own interlocutor, your narrative is largely internalized. in a similar way that warsan said her solitude is sweetness. and it is not necessarily that i thrive on solitude and perish without it, but i have long given up the idea of needing romantic love as the sole mediator of my thoughts (maybe i’m referring to that completeness idea, or maybe i’m complicit anyhow). what i mean to say is our ideas and emotions take on a different light and agency dependent on who we share them with, but i esp think as a woc, esp from a young age, you learn how to rely on yourself because we’ve been let down repeatedly, and your thought process becomes crystallized in a specific manner. perhaps this is an important defence mechanism, form of self-preservation, or perhaps it is important to let it go
