alright i didnt really want to get into this but here we go. someone who uses a different set of pronouns than the “norm” isnt trans unless they say they are. we want these pronouns to become normalized and by slapping the label of trans onto someone who uses different we’re taking a step back.

as well as the fact that gerard did not come out and didnt not ask to call him anything other than a man. by assuming hes nonbinary because he uses they/them we’re enforcing an expectation on nonbinary people and are pushing cis people away from accepting these pronouns as universal.

i am assuming gerard way is cis in the way that i assume he is het. everyone pushes these labels onto him instead of listening to him. they said they dont want anyone to use any labels for them. this does not make them trans nor nonbinary, but not cis either.

i apply this when i say het because of the many times theyve alluded to sleeping with men.

and while this is terrible its true but as gerard way continues to not come out he will be treated as cishet. and this is no shame or negative attack on him its simply how theyve allowed us to perceive them.

we have no access to gerards personal life as theyve let us know and we dont know anything on such a personal level about him. im not saying to stop taking comfort is someone who uses he/they pronouns im only saying that the way weve labelled him is taking away from out trans people by butting in saying “well gerard way” when gerard way hasnt labelled himself as such
