Hey there! I'm SuspiciousVivi, although you can call me Vivi. I may no longer use Tumblr nowadays, but I can still use it to make longer posts than usual! This time, I'm going to do something that a lot of Puyo Puyo fans don't usually do, but other fandoms do: Predicting and creating the next game's roster. That is normally a tactic that people in the Smash Bros. community do, so maybe I should do the same but with Puyo Puyo.

First of all, I'm going to set up what the next Puyo Puyo game would be like...

My prediction for the next Puyo Puyo game would be that it is mainly set in the Puyo Puyo Quest universe (you know, the gacha game), and the story mode and characters are going to be chose after this game in particular.

I'm going to do a total of 3 different roster, all based on tactics that SEGA did with their games, so we're going to start with this roster as the starting point.

This is the most barebones roster you could imagine for a Puyo Puyo game, but I feel like it should make sense for the game's launch. Note that there are a total of 31 different characters at the start, with at least 8 of them being unlockeable; you can also see that Carbuncle is now grouped together with Arle (just like in the games like Fever 2, 15th Anniversary and the first Tetris), I made it that way in order to save up some character slots in the future.

The next roster would be set around the game having post-launch free characters, so I went with this roster in particular next.

This roster in total now has 40 characters (just like in Tetris 2), with it adding characters that would probably be added for free as part of some post-launch content if Sega decides to do that for the next game! I added the Skill Battle-exclusive characters from Chronicle, alongside Marle, Squares, Legamünt and Rozatte (all of which were in Tetris 2). This would be the go-to roster for the completed game, if Sega decides to do such thing.

Okay guys, 40 different characters is fun and all, but what if we could go even higher...?

I added 10 more characters which would make for the first paid post-launch characters (or DLC) for Puyo Puyo, making a total of 50 (!!) different characters in this game, the highest a Puyo Puyo game would probably go with. These 10 characters include some obscure characters such as Tartar, but also including Sonic the Hedgehog and his rival Shadow! Sonic may not be the greatest inclusion to Puyo Puyo for me personally, but if SEGA wants to include more of their guest characters into Puyo Puyo, they can go and include Sonic and Shadow! They can also go with the route of Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds if they feel like doing it. I feel like this should be the endgame of Puyo Puyo character rosters if SEGA did it, and we could get even more characters we don't usually see in modern Puyo Puyo games at all, although we still may see SEGA only include 24 to 30 characters at all for the next game.

If you ask me about what will this new game in particular be called, my safest pick would be Puyo Puyo Quest Adventure. You wanted a character that should be in the next game as well?
