And yes, I know her arms and leg joints are kinda exposed (I mean there's probably some padding on her knees and ankles, but still) but I feel like she'd value freedom of movement enough to take the slight drop in safety. As opposed to knee protection that would almost certainly make it harder to crouch and whatnot. (The neck is protected, I just haven't colored it yet so it's hard to tell)
I think she also refuses to wear a helmet because of the loss of vision even the best helmets cause. I imagine Germaine to be the type to focus on offense more than defense ("Your enemy can't hit you if they're already dead") and I do think her armor would reflect that. I just don't think we need to be doing the V-neck and skirt thing, because I think Germaine is just too practical to be made for the male gaze.
And like cmon. I don't have a problem with her dressing more femininely when she's off duty (I mean it doesn't really fit MY headcanon of her, but to each their own. There's nothing wrong with a woman soldier being more traditionally feminine at times.) But seriously? Girl's gonna have a dress and V-neck when she's doing her revenge war? Really?

(I mean, with all the armor around it I can concede that its not LIKELY but theres also no practical reason I can think of to have a cleavage hole in your armor regardless of how likely it is to get exploited) Also the skirt looks so flimsy. That fabric is giving absolutely NO protection, and is just likely to get caught on something. Her design pisses me off so much.

Actually I don’t think the tme/tma binary is bad just because some people “misuse it”, I think it’s bad because it’s fundamentally false. You cannot be “exempt” nor can you simply “exempt yourself” from a systemic form of oppression

-`♡´- The reason why Catherine and Lich became such good friends enough to help each other with murder is because both of them knew how it felt to be overlooked and do not have the confidence to change anything about it. Catherine never fully blamed Lich for what happened and mainly blamed Seth and when Lich gain back more of his memories and realize, Catherine wasn’t there. He had a horrible confrontation with Held because she was one of the few people he actually gave a damn about and how dare Held despite knowing Catherine and knowing how much she hated the idea of being eventually forgotten and abandoned do that to her and Held angrily tried to justify himself by saying that he didn’t want to do it either but he had to because of the rules and Lich still not believing him call him a liar and tried to threatened him if he ever dares to try to do that to any of his other loved ones (even Michaela because only he’s allowed to hurt her as her older brother) and Held thought it would be a good idea to go, of course I wouldn’t do that again but with how you’re acting as a joke and immediately apologized. Any goodwill still between them was burned that day.

there’s this term i coined in my friendgroup i call “the charizard effect” and it can apply to anything and everything, but it was born from me explaining my feelings about the pokemon charizard. the term is basically about how overexposure to something be it by corporate shilling or fandom prominence drives me away from really enjoying something bc i’m exposed to it so much against my will i become tired of it. it came to me bc i was ranting about how tpci does not, and cannot stop reinventing charizard, and how it is popular and obtusely included in almost every region, merch, etc in every way possible and it’s highly commodified.
i dont dislike the pokemon charizard, in fact i really like its X form, but i am exposed to so much charizard in my pokemon consumption that i cant be bothered to care for it in any more than in passing. this applies to a bunch of other stuff i’d otherwise be ok with, but i always just call this aversion phenomena “the charizard effect”
making this term has done numbers for me being able to concisely express how i feel abt something. like. its not charizard’s fault i feel this way, im sure i’d feel normal abt it if it was stripped of all this over commodification, but i cannot. hence the name
