OKAY. This post was due for a good amount of time, I've just been lazy.
BUT ITS 4AM AND I CAN'T SLEEP.
Now, I know a lot of you don't know who i am, nor do you care to. That's perfectly fine. Well, let me introduce myself. I am Sheaoutlowd, yes I know that's not how you spell loud. I started this gaming channel in the hopes that I could get a tad bit better about my insecurities as a speaker and well, just learn to fucking kick back once in a while. Following me here? Good.
There was no real purpose in creating a gaming channel. Well, no, I just lied. There was a purpose, to just have fun and test my ability to create, edit, and more importantly, be myself and enjoy the games I would like to play. Now does that mean my gaming decisions were set in stone? Of course not. With life, there comes trail and there comes error. It baffles my mind how some of the Youtube community or just the community OVERALL expects some perfect, crisp and clean machines when it comes to this Youtube game. And before I get a flip remark asking 'So you don't believe YouTubers care about their channels?' - for goodness sake, no!
But what I do mean is that doing anyplatform of video - whether it be video games, vlogs, make-up tutorials, etc. It takes TIME. You think we just sit around, record a video, flim flam kaboom and then upload? No. If it were that easy, I wouldn't be talking about this now.
Granted I'm new, and I don't really know the ins and outs of what it really takes to build a successful channel, but I do know this: some, not all, Youtube members set their standards obliviously high when they are completely ignorant of the actual time, consistency, effort and more importantly patience it actually takes to upload and more importantly entertain.
We as gamers are already put up to this oblivious stereotype and we have to work to actually break the stereotype we never were. And basing first impressions off the quirky, spoiled children who rant and troll all day long via Call Of Duty, well.. I hope you see where I'm going with this.
First off, I have other life priorities I have to tend to that aren't revolved around Youtube and recording fucking videos for you.
I have school, and being one credit shy of being considered a full-time student should give you the impression of my workload. I'm looking for a job. C'mon guys, I'm a poor college student living off loans and its obvious YouTube isn't paying me to do this. I have relationships that need attentive care. I'm pretty sure my younger crowd has no idea what I mean by that, but its okay. And more importantly, gaming is not and I repeat is not my passion. Yes, I love video games and talking like the next human being. But my first love is drawing, so don't bitch and moan to me about not putting up videos but I have thumbnail art. Just fuck off, seriously.
On top of what I previously mentioned, you guys realize this other classic fact: I AM NOT A YOUTUBE PARTNER. I DO NOT GET PAID TO UPLOAD VIDEOS UNDER A CONSTANT BASIS. NORΒ DO I INTEND TO RIGHT THIS INSTANT.
I feel like with these facts alone, I should be entitled to upload whenever I feel like. This is merely something to have a little fun and maybe relieve a little stress after drawing. The sooner you guys understand I have much bigger, more stressful things going on in my life other than uploading a video for you.
While I am talking about these comparisons and standards for new LPers, let me get another thing clear: I AM NOT, IN NO SHAPE OR FORM, TRYING TO "COPY" CRYAOTIC, PEWDIEPIE, THERPGMINX, ETC.
To me, that's both hurtful and utterly shocking to receive such lashings like that. Let's be perfectly honest, the said LPers I mentioned (besides Pewdiepie were the first and only LPers I would watch on my personal Youtube before I even considering doing LPs.) I'll admit that I did use the font Cry used. But so what, its a font. I'm pretty sure he, nor I, am the only one on this vast planet who is using said font. But now that I am developing my own style with editing and weening off what I REGULARLY saw from their videos, I can admit to where I might have struck the comparison chord. But come on, I don't want to be them. They're great and I inspire to be as good as them quality and consistency wise. But as far as stealing their entire style? You guys can't be serious.
And if any of them happen to skim by this, I am a huge fan. Kay, enough of the fan girl moment.
Another thing that seems to just ruffle the audience's feathers quite a bunch is the fact that... I'm black?
Really?
First off, I didn't know that being a certain skin color determined if you were a good commentator/gamer or not. Skill is skill, not fucking color. Honestly, I don't want to go all civil rights with you guys but the fact that people are learning that I'm black is slightly making them "expect" me to say certain things a kind of way? What kind of person are you to already judge my capabilities as a human when you don't even know me. You don't know my upbringing and you especially don't know my mannerisms on a day-to-day fucking basis. So, you decided to ask me where was my "slang" and why don't I end my sentence with "yo", or "dawg" each and every sentence? You know what... It really saddens me that after so long the amount of ignorance in human beings seems to increase SECOND BY FUCKING SECOND. I can't even put into words how badly this pisses me off. If you're looking for a "fried-chicken loving porch monkey with nappy hair" you can just shove that statement up your ass and I hope it comes through your nose. Pathetic.
Though I do enjoy my fried chicken. But that's another story.
