In short, I:

Made awesome friends

Ate REALLYREALLYREALLY good food

Added a new goal on to my life goals

Discovered the true meaning of “yolo”

The food was really good gaiz…seriously

Probably developed super buff leg muscles

SEVEN!

Loved almost every minute of it

Became more confident in myself

Took lots of awesome photos that I shall get around to uploading (sigh 800 photos)

Made good friends in college who (mostly) all moved to NYC too!

Still eating that bomb food, so much good food……

Achieved that life goal (I think what I was saying was I made a goal that I wanted to move to NYC and not just visit), not sure what my next goal is….

Can confirm that my leg muscles are prob hella buff because rip so many stairs + also my weekend Manhattan walks/other adventures in Brooklyn!

Def have become more confident since high school, still trying to figure out how to adult

Taking less awesome photos but I’m percolating on a new Instagram/photo project idea related to NYC…..

life is so busy, but i feel so fulfilled! my creativity, talent and work ethic flow through me on my good days and i've learned to just lie on my bed horizontally for the bad ones. the mood swings have become so much easier to manage just because i give myself the space to breathe. and for the sake of nostalgia

Thirteen years later and:

Basically ditched every friend throughout the years except Aditi, until I met Awurama and Allison and made an incredible friend group that helped me feel so seen and heard. We're such an incredible group of annoying + easily overstimulated humans, I love us. It took me so long to find my people and I'm holding on to them for dear life.

I'm not as interested in food these days! I think it takes a lot to impress me. I def have my go-to fave spots in NYC, like the person at Yummy Stick recognizes me

Can you guys believe I'm still in NYC? Me either, this city has chewed me tf up and spat me out so much and yet I am still here.

YOLO FOR LIFE!!! I EMBRACE YOLO

Go-to NYC restaurants of the moment: Yummy Stick, Spicy Moon, Buddha Bodai, Kiki's, Golden Diner, Chino Grande, Thai Diner...it's like almost all Asian food lol

Taking so many dance classes my legs and feet are constantly in pain these days but WE MOVE

SEVEN!

I feel like I'm almost annoyingly confident in myself these days!

I take my photos in Lapse these days and don't think too much about it. It takes me, again, a lot to be impressed and pick up my camera to take a photo
