having internet friends is the same as having irl friends but backwards. when you first meet someone irl the first thing you see is your face, and the first thing you learn is their name. maybe you ask where they're from, what their family is like, what they like to do in their free time. you have to figure out if you want to be friends. but if you make friends over the internet, you already have a shared interest. you might learn each other's routines, timezones, different habits. but learning their real name is a big deal. face reveals are an even bigger deal. the things you usually first learn about someone are some of the last things you learn about someone you meet online. you're making friends, but backwards.
love seeing everyone in the notes say how much they love their online friends and how grateful they are for them. love seeing love in the world
i do think we should normalise being like. platonically enamoured with someone. perhaps i love and admire you dearly and there's nothing romantic about it

anyone else ever wish they could lie down harder? Like, I'm already horizontal, but I need more horizontal. I need to be absorbed by the floor. I think that would fix me
the writers of Bringing Up Baby were really like "so there's this *flips coin* absent-minded paleontologist who is *draws a straw* obsessed with a specific dinosaur bone and who *spins a wheel* meets a crazy heiress who *rolls dice* is trying to transport a leopard to New England but then he ends up *throws dart* posing as a Brazilian hunter who's having a nervous breakdown and *picks a card from a hat* gets thrown in jail for tampering with a circus truck"
the restorative practice called going to the movies alone, very important to me like taking vitamins
“According to Hollywood historians, actress Barbara Stanwyck wasn’t only a diva of gay culture, but a hero too—a real-life lesbian who also played one in the movies (Walk on the Wild Side) and probably had flings with Joan Crawford and Marlene Dietrich. Like many Cancers, Stanwyck fiercely gaurded her privacy and vulnerability. ‘She talks a tough game,’ said a family insider, ‘but…she isn’t so cocksure like she always pretends. But it was a very hard shell she built.’ On TV she played the stereotypical Cancer-type of matriarch in The Big Valley.”
