Just a quick little intro post
Well. I never made an intro post and it's evidently something we do here so why not.
I go by Casper on here (part of an anagram my brother made for me years ago.) I used to work at an animal shelter and now work at a dog daycare. I'm still trying to figure out what to do with my life... aren't we all. I enjoy hiking, video games (when I have time,) reading about biology, animal behavior, and neuroscience, SciFi shows, and yapping and oversharing with strangers on the internet, as one does. I go by she/her.
More importantly, I enjoy posting about my pets. Brèagha (bree-ah) is my 9-year-old Border Collie. She means more to me than I could ever explain, and is the best little buddy, always down for anything whether it's trying a new sport or going on a 10-mile hike. Cornifer is my 3-year-old cat who I abducted from the woods behind a dentist's office in rural Tennessee as a feral kitten. He's orange. Of course I have my own ✨hot takes✨ about dog things which I'll share for the heck of it. I'm a strong supporter of "force-free" type training and believe that animal training should be humane and evidence-based. I don't go on other people's blogs and try to convince them to train differently so I'd appreciate if you don't do that to me. Don't come here and recommend prong collars, shock collars, etc. to me please.
I'll be honest, I don't know a lot about how tags are actually supposed to work on here. I'm not really big on censoring things because most of the time I'm just going to forget anyway and also... this is my blog and I'm gonna talk about whatever I wanna talk about. I mean of course I'm not gonna post graphic photos of stuff and go into detail about gore or anything like that. But there's talk of mental health stuff on here, and there's probably going to be mention of shit piss and vomit from time to time, because I work and live with animals and that's just part of it. I'm aroace and I post about that sometimes. I don't post about sex or romance on here outside of the context of being aroace, so you won't see that here. Sometimes I post about my experiences with NVLD and dyscalculia too. I don't have separate blogs for different topics so it's all just a mishmash of reblogs, dogblr/catblr posts, and personal stuff here.
One thing about me is I'm quite reserved in person but a certified yapper online. I won't take it personally if you don't respond 😄
I'm just trying to survive in the capitalist, fascist hellscape we call the USA. On a planet that's on fire. In a brain and nervous system that seems to not really be designed to handle... life, in general. I come here to ramble and dump out the thoughts in my head. It's not gonna be organized well.
