Yesterday I bid farewell to my trusty chariot of 15+ years. When I bought another car, I had no idea what to do with my ‘99 Pathfinder. First I tried the CA stay junker program but she was rejected because she passed the smog test last year. Should I sell it? I tried, but not many people are interested in a vehicle with 297K miles on it. Plus, the 1st gear seal in the transmission is going out, so she will not smog straight away for a new owner. Then I thought I would keep her for a while as a surf car. But, parking her out in the main street was okay but not ideal. Then, the battery was dead so I recharged it. When I put the battery back in it turns out the starter was kaput, so “what next”, asked Charlie. I got on my phone and 30 seconds later I was talking with @heritagefortheblind . Set everything up in a couple of minutes, no problem. When I told Charlie about where I was donating my car he said, “quite fitting.” You see, almost 3 years ago Charlie had a surf accident and as a result, lost his left eye. So he knows what it is like to lose partial vision, a part of himself & a whole lot more. Hope that what $$ my car brings at auction will help those in need. Things sure do have a funny way of working out, don’t they ☺️ When it is right it is right. #cardonation #heritagefortheblind #trustyourgut #trustyoirinnerself (at San Clemente, California) https://www.instagram.com/p/CU-a5mLp_zZ/?utm_medium=tumblr
