You might think that the 41-year-old Dwayne Johnson is getting a little bit old for this role, but he’ll probably the best one to play this type of character.

16: Edge of Tomorrow

An officer named Lt. Col. Bill Cagewho has never seen a day of combat when he is dropped into what calls to a suicide mission. Killed within minutes, Cage now finds himself inexplicably thrown into a time loop – forcing him to live out the same brutal combat over and over, fighting and dying again and again. But with each battle, Cage becomes able to engage the adversaries with increasing skill, alongside Special Forces warrior Rita Vrataski. And, as Cage and Rita take the fight to the aliens, each repeated encounter gets them one step closer to defeating the enemy.

With 2013′s underrated “Oblivion” Tom Cruise follows another futuristic sci-fi action film with a heck of an existential conundrum. Well the movie is based on the Japanese novel “All You Need Is Kill,” which sounds about a thousand times cooler than the” Edge of Tomorrow”.

Here he plays a soldier in a war against an alien race who finds himself stuck in a “Groundhog Day” kind of loop that sends him back to the start of the day he’s killed in a sneak attack. Although that isn’t very clear from the film’s rather confusing trailer, which plays more like a confusing of seemingly random sci-fi ideas and hero shots of Emily Blunt holding her own against her veteran genre co-star. Let’s see, this time our favourite Tom Cruise what makes out of it?

15: Get On Up

Based on the incredible life story of the Godfather of Soul, the film will give a fearless look inside the music, moves and moods of James Brown, taking audiences on the journey from his impoverished childhood to his evolution into one of the most influential figures of the 20th century.

All eyes are on Chadwick Boseman, who follows up his acclaimed turn as baseball legend Jackie Robinson in 2013′s “42″ with playing another major 20th century icon: the Godfather of Soul himself, James Brown. Boseman will get on the scene in this biopic directed by Tate Taylor, which chronicles the music man’s life from extreme poverty to international superstardom as one of the most influential performers in the history of entertainment.

Well the one of the best motivations films in this list you’ll find is “Get on Up”.

14: Dawn of the Planet of the Apes

A growing nation of genetically evolved apes led by Caesar is threatened by a band of human survivors of the devastating virus unleashed a decade earlier. They reach a fragile peace, but it proves short-lived, as both sides are brought to the brink of a war that will determine who will emerge as Earth’s dominant species.

In this epic story, Eight years after the events of the surprisingly quite excellent “Rise of the Planet of the Apes”, human survivors of the virus that’s wiped out a good chunk of humanitywage war against Caesar and his ever-growing ape army. Well the question here is who will emerge as the planet’s dominant species? This round of revolution is directed by Matt Reeves the director of “Let Me In” and “Cloverfield”.

13: How to Train Your Dragon 2

It’s been five years since Hiccup and Toothless successfully united dragons and Vikings on the island of Berk. While Astrid, Snotlout and the rest of the gang are challenging each other to dragon races, charting unmapped territories and exploring new worlds. When one of their adventures leads to the discovery of a secret ice cave that is home to hundreds of new wild dragons and the mysterious Dragon Rider, the two friends find themselves at the centre of a battle to protect the peace. Now, Hiccup and Toothless must unite to stand up for what they believe while recognizing that only together do they have the power to change the future of both men and dragons.

In this adventure/fiction, the adventures of young boy Hiccup and his dragon Toothless continues as they come across a secret ice cave that serves as home to hundreds of wild dragons and the mysterious Dragon Rider, a discovery that stirs up an epic conflict. This makes it’s the epic saga ever seen in the animated movies.

A chronicle of the life of Louis Zamperini, an Olympic runner who was taken prisoner by Japanese forces during World War II.

Angelina Jolie’s second directorial effortrepresents the life of Olympic runner Louis Zamperini (O’Connell), who was taken prisoner by the Japanese army during World War II. The screenplay is the adaptation of Laura Hillenbrand’s book courtesy of the Coen Brothers, with Jolie once again providing the ‘dark’ alternative to more family friendly Christmas Day movie going like “Into the Woods”. Hopefully, this one won’t make us feel boring like the previous one.

As humanity picks up the pieces, following the conclusion of “Transformers: Dark of the Moon,” Autobots and Decepticons have all but vanished from the face of the planet. However, a group of powerful, ingenious businessman and scientists attempt to learn from past Transformer incursions and push the boundaries of technology beyond what they can control – all while an ancient, powerful Transformer menace sets Earth in his cross-hairs.

In this latest movie of the franchise, this time they came with a bang with some extraordinaryDinobots stuff. The idea of planet-eating Uniconwould be cool, too. That is all the information provided by the movie right now, but surely “Transformers: Age of Extinction” will going to be one of the biggest hit of this year.

10: The Maze Runner

Thomas wakes up in an elevator, remembering nothing but his own name. He emerges into a world of about 60 teen boys who have learned to survive in a completely enclosed environment, subsisting on their own agriculture and supplies. A new boy arrives every 30 days. The original group has been in “The Glade” for two years, trying to find a way to escape through the Maze that surrounds their living space. They have begun to give up hope. Then a comatose girl arrives with a strange note, and their world begins to change.

Another sci-fi movie?, well this one is based on James Dashner’s pretty terrific 2009 novel about a group of young boys who wake up one morning to find themselves with no memories other than their first names and trapped in the unsolvable Maze beyond its stone walls. Then, one day, a girl shows up in the Maze, one who may be able to shed some light on the ‘why?’ of their situation and, more importantly, the ‘how the heck does we get out of here?

Well with the original-something new type of story and some great, fast-paced action scenes,will be a biggest movies of 2014.

9: The Interview

In the action-comedy “The Interview”, Dave Skylark (James Franco) and his producer Aaron Rapoport (Seth Rogen) run the popular celebrity tabloid TV show “Skylark Tonight.” When they discover that North Korean dictator Kim Jong-un is a fan of the show, they land an interview with him in an attempt to legitimize themselves as journalists. As Dave and Aaron prepare to travel to Pyongyang, their plans changes when the CIA recruits them to assassinate Kim Jong-un.

The writing-directing duo of “This Is the End” return with a raucous comedy about a talk show host (Franco) and his producer (Rogen) getting caught up in an international assassination plot via a femme fatale CIA agent (Caplan). Even if “The Interview” ends up only half as funny as “This Is the End,” it’ll still qualify as a good film.

8: Fury

April, 1945. As the Allies make their final push in the European Theatre, a battle-hardened army sergeant named “WarDaddy” commands a Sherman tank and her five-man crew on a deadly mission behind enemy lines. Outnumbered and outgunned, WarDaddy and his men face overwhelming odds in their heroic attempts to strike at the heart of Nazi’s.

“Fury” takes place during the last days of World War II as a hardened American tank commander (Brad Pitt) leads a unit of five soldiers behind enemy lines as Nazi Germany collapses around them. The film caught some bad press when the rather explosive production made a ton of racket whilst shooting during the early hours of Remembrance Day, observed in Commonwealth countries in memory of those members of the armed forces who died in the line of duty.

7: Jupiter Ascending

From the streets of Chicago to the far galaxies through space, this film tells the story of Jupiter Jones, who was born under a night sky, with signs predicting she was destined for great things. As day passes she grewandstarted the dreams of stars but wakes up to the cold reality of a job cleaning other people’s houses. Only when Caine, a genetically engineered ex-military hunter, arrives on Earth to track her down does Jupiter begin to glimpse the fate that has been waiting for her.

From the trailers of this film, no one has clear idea what it’s going to be in this sci-fi yet another ground-breaking duo that brought us “The Matrix”. We’re just glad that we’re finally getting another sci-fi them and the cast itself has its own bonus featuring Kunis, Tatum, Redmayne, and ever-grizzled Bean.

6: 22 Jump Street

After making their way through high school (twice), big changes are in store for officers Schmidt and Jenko when they go deep undercover at a local college. But they begin to question their partnershipwhen Jenko meets a kindred spirit on the football team, and Schmidt infiltrates the bohemian art major scene. Now they don’t have to just crack the case – they have to figure out if they can have a mature relationship. If these two overgrown adolescents can grow from freshmen into real men, college might be the best thing that ever happened to them.

22 Jump Street follows the life of two undercover cops Jenko (Tatum) and Schmidt (Hill) whogoes deep undercover in college to fight more evil and tolerate more “You look a little old to be here” observations from their fellow students. With more red-band hijinks ensue and without the added bonus of a Johnny Depp cameo it is very difficult for the boys.

5: The Hobbit: The battles of five Armies

After the success of “The Desolation of Smaug” and “An Unexpected Journey” director Peter Jackson comes with another hobbit movie “The battles of five Armies”. As the last film is ended with a cliffhanger in which Smaug himself (Benedict Cumberbatch) flies off to spew his fiery wrath upon the citizens of Lake-town. At first the movie was originally named as “The Hobbit: There And Back Again” but then it change into “The battles of five armies” which is way cooler than that.

We’re excited about this movie, as it proves the whole series to be an epic trilogy or a complete disappointment.

4: Into the Woods

Into the Woods is a modern twist on the beloved Brothers Grimm fairy tales in a musical format that follows the classic tales of Cinderella, Little Red Riding Hood, Jack and the Beanstalk, and Rapunzel-all tied together by an original story involving a baker and his wife, their wish to begin a family and their interaction with the witch who has put a curse on them.

Stephen Sondheim’s beloved stage musical finally becomes a big-screen fairy tale courtesy of “Chicago” director Rob Marshall, sporting an A-list cast including Depp as the Wolf, Streep as the Witch, Blunt as the Baker’s Wife and Kendrick as Cinderella. And you also get Chris Pine as the Prince, Tracey Ullman as Jack’s Mother and Christine Baranski as Cinderella’s Stepmother.

By having this sort of casting and a romantic-drama story line of a baker and his wife, “Into the Woods” will going to be a great musical-drama ever seen on the big screen.

3: Guardians of the Galaxy

Guardians of the Galaxyexpand the Marvel Cinematic Universe into the cosmos, where brash adventurer Peter Quill finds himself the object of an unrelenting bounty hunt after stealing a mysterious orb coveted by Ronan, a powerful villain with ambitions that threaten the entire universe. If you thought “Thor” The God of Thunder is awesome, then what will you say about this “Guardians of the Galaxy”. The film features the Marvel’s intergalactic team of superheroes, which includes a gun-crazy raccoon (Bradley Cooper), a giant walking and talking tree (Vin Diesel) and is led by the guy who plays Andy on “Parks and Recreation.” “Guardians of the Galaxy” is so crazy; it just might have the ache in your stomach (the size of Texas).

Bonus: After Philip Seymour Hoffman’s sly turn as Plutarch Heavensbee, we’re now looking forward to his “Magnolia” and “Boogie Nights” co-star Julianne Moore joining the fray as Alma Coin.

The film’s trailer promises something grand and majestic as McConaughey plays a self-described pioneer who takes space travel to the next level. Nolan is definitely looking to create something worthy of being mentioned in the same sentence as Stanley Kubrick’s “2001: A Space Odyssey.” Considering the fact that he’s Christopher Nolan, he just might pull it off.

1: Naruto

Many years ago, in the hidden village of Konoha, lived a great demon fox. When it swung one of it’s nine tails, a tsunami occurred. The fourth hokage sealed this demon fox inside a boy in exchange for his own life. Naruto was that boy, and he grew up with no family, and the villagers hated him thinking that he himself was the demon fox. Naruto’s dream is to become Hokage, and have the villagers acknowledge him.

The character, for which the show is named, Naruto, is quickly introduced, and even before the end of the first episode the viewer is completely aware of the ultimate direction of the plot: Naruto will someday become the strongest ninja of his village and receive the highly coveted title of Hokage. It is the ride that counts after all. However, in the case of Naruto the ride is tantamount to that of an old, wooden roller coaster  sometimes thrilling and often nostalgic, yet still quite a bit rickety and easily outdone in terms of excitement and quality.

Uzumaki Naruto, our primary character, is much like the leads of many of the most popular fight-styled anime. Like Goku (of Dragon Ball Z), Naruto is headstrong, motivated and cares deeply about his comrades. Like Yuusuke (of Yu Yu Hakusho), Naruto is rambunctious, brash, and a bit of a slacker.

How one feels about Naruto probably depends, in good part, on their anime viewing mileage. As a person that has been watching anime for a decade and a half, there isn’t too much here that I haven’t seen done better elsewhere. However, it has managed to get better as it progresses. Although uneven in most aspects, this show is a good introductory title that will likely bring many newcomers into the fold of anime fandom.

2: One piece

Years ago, the fearsome pirate king Gold Roger disappeared, leaving a huge pile of treasure and the famous “One Piece” behind. Whoever claims the “One Piece” will be named the new pirate king. Luffy D. Monkey, a boy who consumed the “Devil’s Fruit”, has it in his head that he’ll follow in the footsteps of his idol, the pirate Shanks, and find the One Piece. It helps, of course, that his body has the properties of rubber and he’s surrounded by a bevy of skilled fighters and thieves to help him along the way.

One piece is one of the most amazing anime we have ever seen. It’s easy to see why; One Piece follows a very simple and very successful shonen action formula. The premise is pretty basic. Luffy D. Monkey, an irrepressible youth, ate the Devil’s Fruit, which gave his body extra-strength elasticity. He’s searching for the One Piece, a legendary treasure that will make him the King of all Pirates and finally allow him to prove himself to his childhood idol, a selfless pirate by the name of Shanks. Along the way, he collects an army of somewhat freakish rogues, including a tough swordfighter named Zoro who fights with a sword in his mouth, and Nami, a spunky thief. Together they have wacky adventures, beat up the bad guys, and collect treasure. It all sounds pretty harmless, and enjoyable.

Well One Piece is completely harmless entertainment. The battles can be surprisingly brutal at times, but overall, this is pure shonen action entertainment. One Piece is not a particularly deep show, although the characters are well developed. The focus seems to be on the crazy villains and the endless string of fights the main characters go through. One Piece is not done in a traditional anime style. It’s very unique and it’s bound to rub some people the wrong way. One piece surely is the best anime we’ve ever seen so far, as it makes up to the top of the list.

3: Bleach

Bleach follows the story of a 15-year-old boy ‘Ichigo Kurosaki’ with the ability to see spirits, something that he considers more of a bother than a gift. One day he meets a Shinigami (Death God) named Rukia, who’s on the run from a Hollow—a destructive spirit with unfinished business on Earth. As a last-minute measure, Rukia transfers her powers to Ichigo, whose abundant supply of spirit energy makes him a far more potent Shinigami than she ever was! Soon Ichigo is vanquishing Hollows left and right, and meeting other friends at school with similar abilities. However, Rukia’s transfer of power is forbidden by the Soul Society (the official name of the spirit world), and when their agents come to Earth to dish out the consequences, Ichigo finds that he might have to challenge the entire world of the dead to save her.

If you think Naruto is Dragon Ball Z with ninjas, then Bleach is Naruto with dead people. The colorful characters, numerous fights and high episode count make such comparisons tempting, and fans of one are often fans of the other. Bleach is clearly the Next Big Anime License. It doesn’t aspire to be high art, but it doesn’t need to—this is high entertainment, swords out and spirit energy blazing, ready to bring a modern sensibility to the classic shounen themes of friendship, challenge, and victory.

The story starts out like most others of its kind; a boy in his mid-teens, bestow unique abilities upon him with a cool sword, and send him out to fight some nasty monsters. For the first several episodes Bleach goes through this methodical hack-and-slash, with sprinklings of comedy for good measure. Things start to pick up when Ichigo meets fellow classmates with Hollow-killing capabilities, adding some firepower and variety to their battles. That’s when the real challenge kicks in, and boy does it kick: Soul Society infiltrates the human world, stirs things up, and suddenly Ichigo’s on a mission to save Rukia. This isn’t just training and fighting anymore. This is adventure.

There is plenty of fight-centric adventure anime already but Bleach sets itself apart with a cast of characters that couldn’t exist anywhere else.There are plenty of cool guys with swords out there, plenty of spirit worlds to explore, and plenty of Death Gods to vanquish, but there is only one Ichigo Kurosaki, one Soul Society, and one incredibly entertaining anime that will grab you and refuse to let go. For classic adventure with a slick, modern attitude, go no further than Bleach.

4: Dragonball Z

Dragon Ball Z originally was about the adventures of a young, powerful boy, and his friends as they searched for the elusive seven Dragon Balls, which could grant any wish. Dragon Ball Z continues the story of his adult years, and of the adventures of his two sons Gohan and Goten. Needless to say, Dragon Ball Z is NOT the cute, light heartedthan the original was; for in Z it is revealed Gokuu is a member of a super powerful and ultra-violent alien race known as the Saiyajin.

Dragon Ball Z is a very famous anime out there, or we can say that it is the father of all anime. The show does have good characterization. You want to get to know more about them. Sadly, the fights are so long and drawn-out that character development is completely lost. For example, there was so much comic potential in the relationship between Vegeta and Bulmanamely, that she was such a shrew, she was able to not only tame, but beat into submission the most powerful and possibly evil being in the universe, and even bear his child.

Well, I am not denying that Dragon Ball Z is show to remember in history. Dragon Ball Z will be an anime that will be long remembered, even after we’re gone.

5: Fairy Tail

Fairy Tail focuses on a young celestial wizard ‘Lucy’who uses magical keys to summon the spirits who serve her, comes to the city of Magnolia, hoping to join a sorcerer’s guild. She stumbles into the headquarters of the most eccentric guild, Fairy Tail, and soon forms a team with three of its nuttiest members. Beneath fire wizard Natsu’s rough and tumble good cheer lie extraordinary supernatural powers. He always travels with his sidekick Happy, a flying, talking cat. But whenever Natsu boards a train, boat or any other conveyance, he gets violent motion sickness, which undercuts his power.Natsu spars and quarrels endlessly with Gray, a redoubtable ice wizard. Gray has the disconcerting habit of losing his clothes, leaving him to fight in his boxers. The even more formidable Erza, a hot-tempered, buxom redhead who practices transformative magic, keeps Natsu and Gray in line, but she’s no saner than they are…

As in their previous outings, Fairy Tail eventually get lots of viewers through a mixture of clever strategy, surprising allies, previously undiscovered powers and an unshakeable belief in the bonds of friendship. Although many anime series have blended slapstick and supernatural daring-do, this is fresh, funny and thoroughly entertaining. Fairy tail is recommended for all type of audience.

6: Fullmetal Alchemist

Fullmetal Alchemist is the story of the Elric brothers as they set off to find a means to regain their original and complete bodies. The story revolves around the two young brothers, Edward and Alphonse Elric attempt unsuccessfully to revive their mother using the power of alchemy. In the process, the elder brother, Ed, loses a leg, and the younger brother, Al, loses his entire body. Ed manages to attach his brother’s soul to a nearby suit of armour, at the cost of his right arm.

Visually, this show looks relatively good, the animation is never choppy, inconsistent, or anything of that sort, but it wasn’t quite as impressive as some of the other shows I’ve seen as far. The character designs are excellent, with even uniformed characters within the military seeming distinct (Major Armstrong humorously standing out more so than the others), and the lead characters (Alphonse and Edward Elric) have interesting designs as well.The music during the show is actually quite boredom, though the most of the opening themes (and one ending theme) are energetic and catchy enough. The characters are fresh enough, and well-motivated thus far. The interaction between the Elric brothers as they travel is interesting, and often amusing, with humour being a frequent visitor to this series.

Storywise, this series is very good, and, while the series still has a substantial portion remaining, it is likely to wrap up nicely and be at the end of an entertaining ride.We will look forward to seeing this series when it is released sometime this year, and recommend for you guys if you’re looking for a predominantly fun series look further into Full Metal Alchemist.

7: Death Note

Death Note focuses on a Boy named Yagami Light, as he is the perfect a hero as you could imagine with perfect grades, perfect public record, perfect looks in every fact, his image is squeaky clean. This all ends one fateful day when the Shinigami known as Ryuk drops his Death Note out of the realm of the afterlife, into Light’s schoolyard. Light stumbles across it and reads the directions: write the name of the person you want dead in the Death Note–with their image in your mind–and they will die in the manner you have specified in this supernatural journal. Otherwise, if the circumstance is not specified in writing, the victim will, within minutes, suffer a fatal heart attack. Thinking it a stupid prank initially, Light puts it to the test when saving an innocent woman from being assaulted. To his horror, it works. Inspired with a new renewed sense of justice, Light indulges himself completely in his newfound power, self-righteously declaring himself the bringer of a new, utopian future.

Death Note is the most anticipated anime of the 2006/2007 winter season. Death Note carries story elements and an intellectual integrity that is more commonly seen in your college literary classics than your usual Shounen Jump title.

The lead character Light (once seemingly flawless character) is driven to obsession over the notion of becoming like a god. At first his intentions are decent–rapists, child molesters, serial killers were deserve to die. The world would be better without them. But putting such power into the hands of a mortal as perfect as Light might be corrupts, as history proves time and again.

What really makes Death Note a top rated series are the characters that cause an obstruction to Light’s mission. Topping the cast is the fan-favourite L, whose character is just beyond description. A shady, mysterious, but somewhat eccentric genius, L is probably the only mind that could match the scheming Light. The cat-and-mouse power-play between the two young men is enticing and riveting, making you laugh and keeps you fixed on every frame, soaking in all the details and anticipating the next move. The adorable, yet tragic Misa is another owner of a Death Note, and becomes pathetically infatuated with Light and obediently does his bidding, while at the same time threatening his immunity to the task force tracking him down.

This is just within the first ten episodes or so. This series is simple enough for anyone to understand, but at the same time deep enough and clever enough for those looking for something thoughtful. It’s more than just passive entertainment, though it is just what you make it. That’s the beauty of Death Note.

8: Cowboy Bebop

Spike Spiegel is a bounty hunter in the far future with an easy going attitude and some deadly skill at martial arts. Together with his partners, Jet Black, and later Faye Valentine as well, they go to job to job across the galaxy looking for the high priced fugitives to bag.

Cowboy Bebop is well suited to TV. Each episode manages to stand alone, but at the same time link together an overall larger story. Even if you only see two or three episodes, not exactly in order, one can easily understand the story, and would find enjoyment in them. Cowboy Bebop is both retro and fresh at the same time. Cowboy bebopis very stylish, beautifully crafted series that deserves much more attention than it gets. If ever there was a series more deserving to be a super hit, Bebop is it.

Cowboy Bebop also presents a realistic view of the future. Character designsare also realism. Spike is lanky and handsome in his own way, but by no means is he a slender pretty boy. Faye is sexy and curvy, but she’s no large breasted bimbo. Jet is burly, not fat, and has traits that would make one think he is of Russian descent.

The animation is beyond superb. Its quality excels over most current releases. Cowboy Bebop uses computer graphics, but does so in such a fluid, breathtaking manner. There are practically no scenes that feel ‘artificial’, like what’s going on in the foreground is totally separate from the background. Many computer-generated anime can’t seem to shake the look that the characters are just floating in front of the background stills. Everything in Cowboy Bebop seems to breathe with life and motion, even in other scenes, and it’s a rarity and a marvel to behold.

The plot and characterization in Cowboy Bebop have a sophistication and subtlety that is practically one of a kind. It’s hard to find movies this involving, much less animated television series. Cowboy Bebop simply, is this one of the best anime.

This show features a young girl ‘Mikuru’, a battle waitress from the future, must battle the evil alien witch Yuki to protect Itsuki, an innocent young man with unrealized psychic powers, from her clutches.

First-year high school student Kyon’s prospects for an ordinary high school life were shattered when Haruhi Suzimiya, the pretty, smart, and multitalented girl sitting behind him in homeroom stood up and introduced herself with the bold declaration that she was not interested in normal people, only “time-travellers, aliens, and espiers.” Daring to talk to her anyway, Kyon gets caught up in her schemes when, after finding the school’s other clubs lacking, she takes his advice and forms her own, soon dubbed the SOS Brigade, with the stated goal of investigating “unusual occurrences” and with him as the first draftee.

Also dragged or cajoled into the club are bookworm Yuki (whose defunct Literary Club provides the club room), very Moe upperclassman Mikuru (the mascot), and friendly Itsuki (the “mysterious transfer student”). What Kyon gradually discovers, but Haruhi herself utterly fails to realize, is that Haruhi has inadvertently surrounded herself with the very kind of people she was looking for, and they are all there to watch her because she is the most extraordinary one of them all.

The first ten minutes of this film doesgives you clear idea about what to expect. Excessive, bloody, redshirt violence abounds. People being torn apart, limb from limb and literally at that or exploding in a red haze of blood in a showing unlike anything I have ever seen earlier in ANY title. It’s a good indication of what to expect, but you better believe Elfen Lied doesn’t stop there.

In fact, much of the series itself is devoted to quite a few of the darker, more callous factors of human nature.This series does contain a lot of nudity. Given the nature of the show, this really shouldn’t be a big deal. Besides, none of the nudity is of any sexual nature.
