It's looking like D8020 (and thus season 2 of TDPA) has removed Curator's Cut/Shared Story...
Not confirmed but the marketing has 0 mention of it...
Playing these games with bro in SS and seeing the alternate path in CC, was like THE thing TDPA had to set it apart from other games in the genre. Without it, it's just a smaller Until Dawn/The Quarry with less people to kill...
Sad day my friends, sad day...
The rizzler has met his match.
The Quarry but the Until Dawn gang are there too for some reason and Ashley gets bitten and infected, and during the reveal Emily just stares at her like
That scene where Andrew (and Angela) meet Mary for the first time:
She even pronounces it the same way in the game lol

Now where on earth did he get those bruises.
Josh is covered in bruises, dirt and a bit of blood during the first saw trap in the trailer. It looks far too graphic to be makeup? He had a small bruise and a bit of 'blood' in the original game, but not nearly to this degree.
Did this man kick his own ass to make it look authentic? That's some commitment.
Headcanon that he fell down the stairs while dragging Ashley out to the shed.
The intrusive thoughts bested me.
Fear my covidlessness streak may be over.
Four years dodging that shit like it's taxes only to potentially randomly catch it now.
Knew I hated August.
cough cough
Can I even say fuck on here.
Managed to log into my old fanfiction.net account on a whim. This was a mistake.
That 'my stories' tab was like a freaking sarcophagus containing an incomprehensible monster (things I thought was cool at age 14).
I really thought I cooked.

We won, gamers!
Goofy ahh unhinged nerd rant
House of Ashes spoiler warning.
One of my personal biggest problems with the game, besides the terrible, horrible, no good, very bad plot armour for most of the cast, is the endings. Or rather, *ending*.
Because there's just the one. Only the one finale scenario at that, too.
Until Dawn did this too, way back in 2015, but you would have thought that four games later (UD>HA>MoM>LH>) that they would be improving in this regard, not stagnating. Or worse, regressing.
Combined with the fact that Nick, Salim and Jason cannot die until the last 10 minutes of the game **really** kills the replayability of the game, and thus (to me) the biggest draw of this genre.
For as much justifiable flak as Little Hope gets, it still had *seven* different endings (although personally I think it's closer to four real ones).
Not only did Man of Medan also have seven endings, but it has three different ending scenarios to boot!
Daylight is a cool spectacle for sure, but if you boil it down mechanically, it is literally just an easy QTE fest. Full Circle, Lake, Ultimatum, Flooded and Matters of the Heart all feature dialogue options and choices to go alongside the QTEs (except LH which lacks QTEs altogether which is fine), which makes me want to play them over Daylight any day.
TL;DR - Replaying House of Ashes feels more like replaying a slightly variable Call of Duty campaign, and it's not because it's a military themed title. I seriously hope that The Casting of Frank Stone and Season 2 of The Dark Pictures Anthology do NOT repeat this mistake.
How it feels to be a Man of Medan truther in 2024.
I will forever die on this hill.
I made this account 5+ years ago and have always just been a lurker, but I decided this little piece of brainrot I made deserves to be out there :)
