Less of a reason but, significant characters like Ice Climbers, Pokemon Trainer, and ROB are gone, and they're all completely unique characters. Ike, Wolf, and Lucas are gone too, but they're not as much of a shock. Also I'm still on the fence about whether Bayonetta has a chance at inclusion

Okay, listen up bub. I want to know what kind of dark magic you tapped into when you sent me this submission, because this appeared in my inbox 15 hours ago, and lo and behold Sakurai's pic of the day from tonight. I know she's just an assist trophy, but seriously. And for the record, I did not submit this message to myself, regardless of what it says on your dashboards. This was sent in by someone without an account and that's why it's crediting me.

I feel confident that there will be at least one X and Y stage. We'll probably get a 5th gen stage too, since there is most likely going to be a lot of Pokemon stages between the two games. Also, yes, Sakurai has confirmed that the character roster will be the same for both versions of the game. However, he also confirmed that not every character from the last three games will be returning for the fourth installment.

Sakurai works in mysterious ways.Although, they could still include him as an alternate costume for one of the Links, since apparently that's a thing that's happening now.At least, we can assume so due to this picture.

Another new stage was revealed this morning, this time originating from Metroid: Other M. This location is called the Pyrosphere. I can't comment much on the stage, since I haven't played Other M enough to reach this location, but Sakurai did comment on something interesting in the Miiverse Post. "An enemy from Samus's past may appear at any second…" That's some very ambiguous wording you're using there, Sakurai... The most likely conclusion would be that Ridley would appear in the background of the stage as a hazard to the fighters, similar to the Metroid stage that cameoed in Dead or Alive: Dimensions. But could Sakurai be hinting that we'll receiving confirmation of Ridley joining the roster in the very near future? Considering this Miiverse post that touches on how a character's canon size doesn't matter in SSB, I think there's some very serious insinuation going on. I know it's not likely, but I won't give up hope until it's proven.

This morning, we received confirmation of the first new item in SSB4: The X-Bomb from Kid Icarus: Uprising. (and Meteos) Out of my giant list of KIU items that could be used in SSB, this one... wasn't on there. It looks cool, though. 

It would be a cool touch if the stage would feature the occasional Mii in the background, either jogging or flying past while wearing a rocket belt, or have the characters from Mario Kart 7 that didn't make the cut for SSB4 drive past while riding in their karts.

And look in the background, it's Wuhu Island! That means this stage is a combination of the SNES Pilotwings and Pilotwings Resort. Interesting.

In a total surprise to everyone, a stage based on Pilotwings for the SNES was showcased this morning. All we can guess right now is that this is the background of the stage. I'm going to go out on a limb right now and assume that the stage will be modeled to look like the Light Plane that appears in Pilotwings, with the characters running across the wings of the plane. (But it's still way too early to be making guesses like that) I definitely wasn't expecting to see this series get added to Smash Bros, outside of Wuhu Island, which has appeared in Wii Fit Resort, Mario Kart 7, and Pilotwings Resort. Perhaps we'll see Wuhu Island become the Pilotwings stage for the 3DS, based on Sakurai saying that the respective versions will feature stages based on games for those consoles. Since Pilotwings Resort was for the 3DS, it's a safe bet, I think. This stage is also the second one to be revealed for SSB4 to not have a playable representative for its series. Again, it's still early, but I don't think Sakurai will add a playable Nintendog or a Flight Instructor from Pilotwings. Then again, I would say the same thing about Wii Fit Trainer if I didn't see her on the official website.

Ah, yes, I've actually played it before. I really like what they did with Wario and Charizard. (Wario is more based on his Wario Land appearances than his WarioWare ones) Plus they gave DK his rolling attack from DKC, so that makes them okay in my book. It is a very good mod and I recommend it if you're into that sorta thing.
