Honestly, Ishimaru and Mondo's relationship had every chance of getting too deep. Leaving aside the FACT that Kodaka really did not know how to harness the potential of his characters. (He literally killed Kiyondo as soon as he appeared) Ishimaru and Mondo's relationship is easy to reconcile between "best brothers" and "Ouh brO I LoVe YOu" understandably, most people like this ship.
On the other hand, the way in which this relationship is received is quite healthy and you rarely find questionable content from this ship. <3
I guess this is obvious, Celestia and Kyoko are...kind of like seeing the same queen in different cards games. Cold personalities, but deep down there, Very deep down there are feelings.
Outside of canonical interactions, they are characters so similar that they work perfectly as pairs
On the other hand, most of the fandom admires this relationship a lot, because regardless of their little interaction it is thanks to the stoic and cold way of acting of both that it is easy to understand why they are involved in both, often making them look in love and even in the series of fans. <3
The reason I love this ship is because I just love how the way of being of both complements.
As with Ishimaru and Mondo, they are polar opposites that, if Leon had been in the game more, their relationship would have probably deepened even more.
Leaving aside that Leon called Makoto his soulmate, Leon is not someone who gets used to affection often being distant which is why his personality is so messy. However, Leon became close friends in Academy mode because, looking at him from above, using Makoto to spend time with makes him understand that Maybe he don't find it repulsive him, which is why he is kind (in his own way) with Makoto.
Besides that their interactions are very energetic and friendly, the friendship bracelet, the bow, Leon inviting Makoto to take naps with him, inviting him to his band or the beautiful Trigger Happy Heart event.
It is an Extrovert x Introvert type ship that I love, Like Suichi x Kaito style sadly is very underrated because it was unlucky enough to be overshadowed by the content (often questionable) of other ships. (since most content creators look for the most popular) or also because many of their fanarts and fan-made content were lost on the internet. however, it is still a very nice boat.
Besides that what is on the Internet of Leon x Makoto rarely, very rarely, as with Kiyotaka x Mondo is questionable, being mostly a 99% healthy and enjoyable. <3
