You can reclaim fag, sure. You can’t go around calling gay people you hate “degenerate fags,” and then hide behind “but I can reclaim it!” when people rightly call you out. You can reclaim retard, or cripple. But you can’t expect people to nod and agree and coddle you when you call people with developmental disabilities “fucking retards” and make fun of all the “whiny cripples” who need mobility aids, or braille, or closed captioning, or other accessibility accommodations.

You fundamentally can’t reclaim a slur in order to harm others – that’s not reclaiming the slur, that’s just using it.

Slur reclamation is not and was never a super special license to use slurs against others (provided that you yourself are sufficiently oppressed). It was never about that.
