LIGHT TOUCHES
Light touches the corners of my chamber, A quiet room, full of longing for labor.
A glimmering sun, dances watchful and free,
Nature’s satirical grounding, shining on every city,
Fleeting moments, at a standstill play,
Still yearning for movement, standing in our own way.
Inquisitive minds, circling the spaces,
Driven mad by idled motion, purposeless paces,
What if this trial, is a careful test of faith,
Faith lost in noise, resilient in its fate,
Perhaps the constant crashing of thoughts that interfere,
Messages of panic, driven without reasoning clear,
Lead to a path of rebirth, of healing, in their steer,
From the rage of a sickened planet, to the hearts of many dear,
Stagnated in silent chaos, as the winter melts to spring,
Battling the many doubts that linger loudly from within.
As we stop time together, putting aside a collective armor,
Many work-torn hearts surrender, to a defeating endeavour .
And in the pit of despair, small joys make laughter louder,
Less significant milestones, manifest a greater strength that counters,
Questions unanswered, go on unanswered, and matter a little less,
The still mind, let’s go, walks a new road for progress,
And the earths young body rejoices,
As her breath comes with more ease,
As she peers in through our windows,
Gently brushes the frames with a whispered breeze,
Brightening the corners of my room, bringing light to my space,
Full of stillness end of patience, winning a long distance race,
Reminding me to have gratitude, thoughtfulness and grace,
Until the motions resume; and I, like her, revel in freedom’s taste.
