I like that selflessness doesn't come naturally to him. That it takes effort to consider the world beyond his corner of it. I like that he's a tit for tat kind of guy. You scorn him, he turns his back on you. Treat him with respect, and he shows you the same.

I'm going to make some people mad with this post, but please. PLEASE. P L E A S E. Tag your fusion fanfics correctly. A fic does not need the Solo Leveling fandom tag(s) if it doesn't have any SL characters in it. If it has one (1) or two (2) shadow soldiers, or even just a cluster of shadow soldiers, and you're borrowing the SL worldbuilding/setup for another fandom (i.e. "Midoriya Izuku Has The System", "Different version of the Gamer System", etc.), please don't use AO3's SL fandom tag. I've complained about this before, but that's not going to stop me from doing it again: I'm sick of S-Ranks getting a really bad rap (aka bad reputation, had to Google the slang word to make sure I was using it correctly) in Solo Leveling fanfics. Obviously, not all SL fics, but specifically, the Jinwoo-centric fics. Even more specifically, the ChulWoo (Woo Jinchul x Sung Jinwoo) fics, which is why I don't ship them anymore. There are a few good ChulWoo fics out there, but I wouldn't know since I don't read them anymore
As a Korean S-Ranks fan (mostly a Choi Jongin and Baek Yoonho fan, let's be real), I've grown a strong dislike on people categorizing all S-Ranks except Jinwoo (if I had a nickel for each time people emphasized that Jinwoo is the exception, I would be able to buy a boba. I like boba) as "arrogant, controlling, and temperamental." All of the Korean S-Ranks are shown to be extremely competent people, to the point where most of them are in leadership positions. You can't be the leader of a guild, or of anything, if you aren't intelligent, understanding, and patient. There's a reason Hwang Dongsoo isn't a leader. It's because he's actually arrogant. This does not mean dumb. I want to make that clear. He's not stupid, he knew what he was doing and still chose to do it. Just because the decision is stupid doesn't mean the person is stupid. If that were the case, Jinwoo would be stupid. Which he is, but that's not the point, different kind of stupid
Most S-Ranks are confident in their strength, which is different from arrogance. Arrogant is believing you are better than everyone and no one is can be stronger than them. Confident is knowing you have strong abilities that are capable of defeating the opposition but also knowing your limitations. I'm just tired of seeing the Korean S-Ranks being mocked by so many people, both in canon and in the fandom. In canon because they failed to clear Jeju island multiple times, and in fandom because Jinwoo cleared Jeju island with ease while the Korean S-Ranks nearly and actually did die. Like, excuse all of you, the Korean S-Ranks defeated the ant queen themselves with the Japanese S-Ranks only helping by being a distraction. And they were fully prepared to go to Jeju without a healer, Byungyu literally joined last minute. People need to stop making fun of the S-Ranks who were literally risking their lives for their country. You don't need to put others down to make Sung Jinwoo look good, that just makes Jinwoo look pathetic since you're looking for flaws in the people around him rather than the good qualities he has. Anyways, don't mind me, I'm just sensitive and want more Korean S-Rank content
