On Saturday we will be celebrating/mourning/feeling all the emotions at Boise Pridefest with our brothers and sisters of the LGBQT+ Community. All of those emotions will carry over to Neurolux for Duck Club presents MASZER, Lucid Aisle and Sun Blood Stories. We will match our portion of the door proceeds and donate them to the victims of last weekends horrific attack at Pulse. we encourage you to donate what you can. https://www.gofundme.com/PulseVictimsFund
#Repost @orange_wanderer . ăťăťăť Somehow, @sunbloodstories ended up putting on one of the greatest performances I've ever seen on what was supposed to be an off-night. Never take a show for granted #Boise
On May 19th, I was honored to share the stage with my best friends and my mother in tribute to the legend of my childhood, Prince.
Shout out to The Record Exchange for hosting such a magically purple party and a huge thank you to all in attendance for opening your hearts during our rendition of âPurple Rain.â I canât believe I almost held it together.
Youâre all made of some kind of magic.

"The kick off track from their Banana Stand set, âBeats For You I Do,â shows Ben Kirby and Amber Pollard hitting rich, dreamy falsettos before the drums and reverb crash on through. The band wavers from delicate, inviting riffs, to warped sinister pinches from Pollardâs steel guitar. The band has this ability to manage the space and sense of a room with deceiving comfort as they nudge, unapologetically through sonic boundaries." - Banana Stand Media  on our live performance in their digs many moons ago.
We are glad they're still releasing stuff from that 2014 summer; it gives us time to appreciate where we were, where we are, and where we are going.

One thing we can honestly admit is we never thought we'd have our own trading card.
Swing through the FINAL MODERN ART on 5/5 and pick up a few packs of  The New Deal Boise.
The New Deal is a 60-card booster set to The Deal (2008): a deck of artists trading cards marking this moment in Boise's creative scene.
Treefort 2016: Sun Blood Stories Debuts Songs from Third Album
âSun Blood Stories' second album, Twilight Midnight Morning (Obsolete Media Objects, 2015), was one of the best local releases of 2015. At the El Korah Shrine on March 24, the dark psychedelic rock band played a set of songs from its upcoming third album. The spacey drones, tangled guitar lines, howled vocals and muscular rhythms sounded even fiercer and more mesmerizing than the group's earlier material. Â Â "I am the turner of the new soil," sang Ben Kirby and Amber Pollard. âI am the burner of the old.ââ - BOISE WEEKLY

âPoor Sun Blood Stories, they never got over being abandoned in Idaho's sagebrush desert by their alien parents. Â I don't know what they're on, but they've just taken a quantum leap into the witch's boiling cauldron! Â The sounds of their anguish is thrilling and hypnotic. Â What a feast for eyes and ears.â -Michael Guillen photo: Andy Steele

On Saturday March 19th, we get to finally play La Grande again after being "fired" from our 2014 gig for being "too freaky." That was a milestone for us and we can only hope to prove em right. Ready? OK!
âNope, it hasnât been all that long since the last Sun Blood Stories video â only about a month â but whatever. They keep making âem and Iâll keep posting âem. Interesting too how utterly different âWitch Wind,â which you can see below, is from the preceding clip for âMisery is Nebulous.â That was a seven-minute journey through human tragedy, ecological and geopolitical, while âWitch Windâ is dancing silhouettes. Yup. From visuals that make you feel sad to be alive to dancing. That pretty much sums up the scope of the Boise outfitâs 2015 long-player, Twilight Midnight Morning (review here), which I put on the other day simply because â and this is 100 percent true â I missed it. True story. As it happens, âWitch Windâ was an easy favorite from that record, the call and response in the hook from Ben Kirby and Amber Pollard making it an immediate standout. Catchy in itself, it also speaks to the fluidity that Kirby, Pollard, Nik Kososik and Jon Fust are able to conjure from the ether throughout while also evidently dwelling in that ether, getting more tripped out as the three-stage progression of the record unfolds. The band released a follow-up in the even-more-experimental Samhain Variations (review here) last Halloween, but theyâre reportedly also debuting a new offering live next month at Treefort Music Fest in their hometown. I donât know if thatâs recorded yet or not, but Iâll take new Sun Blood Stories as good news one way or another.More on that as I hear it. Until then, hereâs the âWitch Windâ video and appropriate credits. -
