A dusty old crow

This episode did my soul good, friends. Praise the gift we’ve unexpectedly been given on this wintery, Saturday afternoon.

We open with our clip preview from earlier in the week: Cinder filling in Neo on everything that’s been going on since the fall of Beacon. At least presumably. For a show—and specifically a Volume—that focuses so heavily on who knows what when and what secrets each person holds, it seems pretty weak to bypass the conversation entirely and end with, “So now you understand.” I mean, not that I wanted to listen to Cinder rehash everything we’ve watched for ourselves, but I would like to know how she presented the events and whether or not she left anything out. With the exception of the fact that a relic exists, it’s pretty up in the air what Neo now knows. Granted, it might not matter much either way. She’s a character focused pretty solely on personal revenge. Provided that she gets to gut whoever she blames for Roman’s death, I don’t think Neo cares about what the rest of the world is fighting over.

Which brings us to this lovely little shot. Look familiar?

Impaired vision? Sassy personality? Ends up training the protagonist in some way? Is a famous hero idolized by many?

Person: What does she look like?

Ozpin, devoted to nurturing humanity, spent at least two lives as a father, mostly to daughters, likes to do the lame dad voice when telling fairy tales, thinks the best answer to ‘How do you deal with a kid who just stopped a robbery?’ is ‘Give her a whole plate of cookies’: I’m literally incapable of denying you anything right now 

Ruby: :D

Ruby using cardboard and scotch tape to design and build weapons with kids and genuinely loving every idea they all come up with. 

Weiss with a piano singing requested songs to the kids, ranging from songs she’s written herself, to goofy kids songs that they all sing along with her. 

Blake sitting down with a big group of kids and reading them stories, doing all the voices and showing them the pictures in the books. 

Yang telling stories of some of Team RWBY’s greatest adventures, then spending the rest of her time carrying the kids around three four at a time and playing games with them.
