I completely agree. Painting addiction as only weakness is missing a big part of the picture.

(And that's not saying addictive behavior is good or bad or a moral judgment per se, it's saying that often the social/moral judgment is made on capitalism or popularity. It's also not saying that people shouldn't seek help/support if they have problems with these things, more saying that it's wild that a billionaire who hoards money or cars is seen as Successful and Good by wider society regardless of the harm they do in pursuing their hoarding addiction, for example, while a poor person in an obviously dirty and unsafe squalid home full of random junk is instantly judged as a Threat or someone with A Problem even if the only person they are harming is themselves)
