i had always known there was something here. always. even before birth. there’d been rumblings of this ship i believe in the stone ages; i think einstein said sukuna wanted to pound gojo’s ass, that’s a real quote, you can look it up. the first sukugo fanart was actually painted on a cave by the early fujo, believe it or not.

bullshit aside, the exact moment where i knew this ship would be a thing is here:

from the very fucking beginning, my fate was sealed. the smug whispering in his ear??? teasing him, then manhandling him? tossing the sukuna salad around. like a ragdoll. sukuna’s smug reaction???? this is the exact moment where my fujo senses lit up, and i knew exactly what kind of meal we were being served. it was all downhill from here. oh yeah. we touchin tips 2nite.

i would often come on here and blow my load as i do, just talk shit with no idea what the fuck i was talking about, but the spirit was absolutely there. but now im informed. i am enlightened. thus bringing us to our next section, the most important and big horny one ->

this is where this shit becomes undeniable, and if you try to tell me im wrong, no YOU’RE WRONG, FUCK YOU!!! sukugo became canon to me in this fight, and as someone who had shipped them for over a year before reading this, i’ll be honest, i was afraid. i had my doubts that the canon would confirm my shipping. what if i had made it all up in my head. what if i was wrong. after binge reading so many chapters to get here, my morale was getting low.

well, it turns out this shit was even gayer than i had imagined, and i was soooooo fucking bricked up the entire time. fujo pig in yaoi shit. let’s unpack it

while they are opponents, they dont speak to each other like enemies.

there’s teasing, flirting. there’s CAMARADERIE. right off the bat, they seem almost fond of each other. it’s a part of gojo’s personality to flirt, and sukuna is cocky and receptive to it (if inadvertently). and that, is CHEMISTRY!!!!!!! 

they’re like the fucking weirdos that get on everyone else’s nerves because they fucking talk weird, so full of themselves, but once they meet each other it’s like an immovable force meeting an unstoppable object and they never shut up trying to big dick each other. only this time everyone has to sit through it because they happen to be the strongest in their universe. objectively, i find this ship to be hilarious. idk they have annoying unc energy. yuji watching his teacher flirt with his uncle after committing crimes against humanity while they beat each other’s ass 👁️👄👁️ (why do they look like they’re enjoying this)

and more on that, they seek each other’s approval multiple times during their fight.

perhaps a praise? is there a praise you have to say to me? i learned this super cool technique just for you i showed you my dick haha, please respond. it’s so so so so so so cute how they keep trying to impress each other and fish for compliments and approval. like they finally found someone on their level, and they want to show each other the super cool moves they never get to bust out. very cute, very ‘look at this cool trick i learned i cant even show the others, they’re too stupid to get it’ ‘oh yeah, that? well i know one better hmph, look at this one’.

the constant mentions of love and their shared isolation.

the obvious implication is that gojo is the only one who can teach sukuna about love because he’s the only one who can relate to him. when yuji tried to ‘show him the light,’ sukuna wasn’t receptive to it, because he doesnt respect or like yuji. he couldn’t care less about yorozu. but with gojo he actually seems curious. yuji’s way pissed him off, but the way that gojo showed him actually made him happy and “cleared his skies”. that’s because gojo speaks sukuna’s language, so to speak.

so yes, it does seem like gojo is the only one able to get through to sukuna and show him ‘love’. and that does translate well into romantic/shipping contexts. also it doesnt help the gay allegations that the love concept was brought up in a clearly romantic context from yorozu, then transferred to gojo lol. just the sequence of events blurs the lines.

did he literally tap his forehead with the traffic light? ptnk…? they have fought each other brainless. why is this fight very cute to me.

how they choose to touch each other

choosing intimate places to grab him, thigh, hand holding. i dont want to flood this with too many manga panels (even tho this is fair use, im trying to cover my ass a little. obv i do not own jjk or these manga panels, pls go to proper sources to read the full fight, there is much more than this!!), but they both wrap their legs around each other. gojo fists sukuna’s hair, bringing him into his neck. i mean, even just typing it sounds erotic.

AND IM NOT EVEN GOING TO MENTION THE HUG, BUT THE FUCKING HUG, WE ALL KNOW IT AND HOW I FEEL ABOUT IT, THE FACT HE LEG LOCKED HIM AS WELL FUCKING MAKES ME CRAZY, another key evidence of this being a just oddly intimate way of fighting each other.

it’s very playful. if i were to describe fighting as foreplay to someone, i’d just direct them here (or naruto vs sasuke). if either of them were a woman, it’d read as sexually perverse.

this is a huge part of why it works for me. because not only is sukuna receptive to gojo and curious, gojo expresses interest in wanting to show him love. his conversation with suguru confirmed it as mutual. he even was disappointed in himself that he hadn’t shown sukuna a better fight. he says he wanted to convey everything to him, again mentions love…even in the short time they interacted, he felt enough of a connection to sukuna that he cared to that extent.

also, side note, suguru’s “im jealous, but as long as you’re satisfied, im happy”, like what is this ex-lover’s coded conversation lol

Satoru’s Dubious Morals (turning a blind eye to wrongdoing)

why sukugo isnt a typical “enemies to lovers”, good vs bad trope

gojo doesnt seem very concerned at all with sukuna’s evil deeds. kirara even mentions that it seems he’s forgotten that he’s even fighting with megumi’s body during the fight. even after he’s lost, when talking with geto he doesn’t express distaste for sukuna. he does not seem to regard him at all like an enemy, but as an opponent. that goes to what kashimo said about their fight. how this fight was for satoru’s sake. it was personal. 

shoko, the one who knows satoru best out of the cast present, even comments that satoru is a bit shady. while satoru is a man of principle and “by the book”, it is by his own book. he doesnt have a boner for justice. he’s not like yuuji. even megumi, who was practically raised by gojo says himself that he (megumi) is not like yuuji in regards to morality, in fact it seems he’s only a do-gooder because of his sister’s influence, not satoru, as she’s the one pops into his mind when he chooses to do good instead of bad. the lecturing we see from satoru to megumi is not about being good, it’s about becoming strong.

and remember how he responded to geto’s departure from jujutsu society. he never lectures geto on his morals. in fact, he seemed less upset about the morality of the path geto chose, just that it didnt include him in it. (🥺 poor baby. even on the day he killed the elders, he was upset that he was left behind. geto, you dog.)

all of this to say, satoru is not concerned with morals in a typical heroic, upstanding way. he just happens to be on the ‘good’ side and very powerful. in fact, the people who seem to annoy him most are boring, weak people (i wonder who he has that in common with). 

like his character sheet says, “he marches to the beat of his own drum”.

Sukuna’s Sexuality

sukuna doesn’t seem interested in women or sex in a conventional way. he never had a wife or children. if he and gojo ever got together i could see it as a service top situation. even if Satoru wanted to have sex with others, he seems like he’d be fine with it. like he’d see it as equivalent to jerking off. As sexy as it would be if it were the case, Sukuna doesn’t seem like the jealous type. I do think he’d get a bit competitive if Satoru started sparring with someone “better” tho. He would probably want to set himself back as the strongest. Strength seems to be where his pride lies. But i digress.

There’s a high probability that Sukuna’s a virgin, simply because he never felt like having sex. More evidence of this is that condoms were not a thing in the Heian Era, and again, he never had kids or a wife (if he had offspring, they’d likely be mentioned in some way due to how powerful they’d be). He’s likely never kissed anyone.

A part of me does feel Sukuna would get a taste of sex with Satoru and be really, really into it. Like not just sex but making love to someone. I wrote about it a bit in my fic before, but i do think a big part of why he doesn’t value love is because he’s never felt it.

it would be very cute if Satoru was his first time. very very cute. like obviously sukuna is curious about love, no matter how much he denies it, he keeps talking about it. it’s just so cute to imagine him getting curious enough to let satoru show him how to love and make love. i feel like satoru would be very amused by it but also really gentle. like in the airport conversation, he seems to care about sukuna’s feelings. i feel like a relationship between them would be really dependent on having them learn how to feel things, specifically sukuna

also satoru is good at everything he does including sex so he’d show sukuna a good time hehehehe

i could make a separate post on sukuna and the philosophies i feel he embodies. at first i took him to be very hedonistic (he is) but after reading and pondering i think he just barely touches the edge of stoicism. he so fucking damaged and stubborn though. he doesn’t need gojo, girl he needs Marcus Aurelius. Epictetus and a hug would fix him. More on this later if i havent escaped the fucking prison that is jjk fuck my fucking life.

Shared Approach to Life

Just very briefly, they both are very carefree. Something that struck me about Gojo to this day is that when he gets sealed in the prison realm, he doesn’t worry at all. Just fiddles with his blindfold and says “oh well, I’m sure it’ll work out”. Sukuna would probably say the same. They both just don’t seem to care much when shit goes down, because neither of them have had to worry due to their immense power.

They both march to the beat of their own drum, and their beats harmonize.

Summary/TLDR:

they’re on the same emotional wavelength

they play with each other and don’t get bored, 

they like touching each other ~intimately~, 

they made a big enough impact on each other to talk about them when they’re not there, 

satoru seems like he’d overlook sukuna’s wrongdoings enough to have a relationship, 

if there’s anyone who would break through sukuna’s stubbornness regarding love, it’s gojo, and he expressed interest in doing so.

when defeated sukuna says he’d choose a different path if there’s a next life, so there is some glimmer of humanity there 

overall they just seem very fond of each other. they have fun together. it is CUTE TO ME!!! OKAY>!?!

they have all the foundations of true love that they don’t or can’t have with anyone else and they naturally gravitate towards each other 🙂 romantic or not, they’re soulmates! <3 honestly, there is so much more i could have put in here, but i had to cut myself off at a certain point.

final thoughts:

i dont think im getting over this…like ever. this ship really touches something deep in me. maybe because i admire and crave this kind of love deep down hahaha :P sukugo is my roman empire. and im perfectly fine with that.
