Nunca vamos a quitarnos de la memoria los momentos y las personas que nos recordaron que vivir era algo más que un transitar incierto y vacío.

Shengsi, an archipelago of almost 400 islands at the mouth of China’s Yangtze river, holds a secret shrouded in time – an abandoned fishing village being reclaimed by nature. These photos by Tang Yuhong, a creative photographer based in Nanning, take us into this lost village on the beautiful archipelago.
“It’s all code. If you listen closely, you can hear the numbers. There’s a cosmic flowchart that dictates where you can and where you can’t go. I’ve given you the knowledge. I’ve set you free. Do you understand? ”

Jay Keeree: New Work
Jay Keeree, who has graced these pages before, is a freelance Motion Designer from Philadelphia. He began his gifs in 2015 as a way to ‘experiment and create something for myself’ in his downtime and has not stopped creating them since. Despite self imposed limitations of palette, timing and composition, there is a wonderful variety in his work - Jay is always finding new ways to express himself within these limitations. These gifs really hold up to repeat viewing: A bounty of elegance in design and motion is packed into these few seconds. Also, this work has echoes of earlier abstract animators of almost 100 years ago like Viking Eggeling and Oskar Fischinger.
Typical Hope: New Work
Cross Connect favorite Typical Hope has been featured in these pages twice previously. The artist prefers to remain anonymous and let the work speak for itself.

Human Motions Sculptures by Peter Jansen
Peter Jansen (1956) studied Physics and Philosophy at the university. He worked as a guide, accompanying groups on survival and canoe trips, after which he dedicated his life entirely to the arts. Based on his ideas on transposition and movement the artist Peter Jansen uses shapes of the human body to create energetic spaces. In his earlier work, he focused on open spaces, created almost free of matter and weight. His recent sculptures capture sequences of human movements in space and time, in a single frame.

Designer Yrjö Kukkapuro designed this studio for himself in 1969. The concrete shell standing on three support points was calculated by structural engineer Eero Paloheimo.
