hello i was wondering if you have a guide on the differences between cream, off white, ivory and white ! since they look so similar its hard to tell the difference
Different brands will use different words so there really isn’t much that can be done in the way of really making a guide. A lot of brands will call something off-white when I just see it as white, and a lot of brands will use cream and ivory interchangeably. Technically speaking, if you were to make a gradation from lightest to darkest, you would start at white, then off-white, then ivory, then cream. White is the lightest and brightest, completely devoid of color. Off-white might have the smallest hint of color but you might not even be able to really tell unless you put it against something that’s flat white. Cream and ivory are a bit tricky though because different sources will make them look like different things. Here are a few examples:
When talking lolita though, ivory is most commonly used to refer to this color which typically gives an aged, sort of antique look:
