what is subjective freedom? how is it realized through self-determination? what orders our appetites? and, what parts of ourselves govern ourselves? there is the part of ourself that is concerned with the whole, and then there is the part that is concerned with immediate satisfaction of desire. another question then becomes about our ability to be satisfied in our own particularity (our particular family, our particular job, our particular political environment, etc.) should we be satisfied in our own particularity as it is willed to procure a specific immediate object? or should we be satisfied in our own particularity as a reasoned part of a whole? while the former is set for implosion, the latter is a recipe for meaningful relationships and purposeful justice for everyone involved. it is the difference between willing the immediate and willing the universal, one which inevitably brings about rupture, and the other which brings about the unity of your relationships.
